Last concert in Detroit Encore song was changed that night to the cover of Led Zeppelins "In My Time of Dying" .. I believe he was clearly letting everyone know.
In my time of dying, want nobody to mourn
All I want for you to do is take my body home
Well, well, well, so I can die easy
Well, well, well, so I can die easy
Jesus, gonna make up/out siviers
Jesus, gonna make up my dyin' bed
Meet me, Jesus, meet me
Oh meet me in the middle of the air
If my wings should fail me, Lord
Oh please meet me with another pair
Well, well, well, so I can die easy
Well, well, well, so I can die easy

His last post on his facebook page is a bit eerie also..
https://www.facebook.com/chriscornell
He wrote these lyrics from By Crooked Steps and Posted the video..
"I'm the shape of the hole
Inside your heart"
What is interesting the video snapshot is the Back of his Jacket with the image of the grim reaper
It's just so hard to wrap my head around. He was constantly posting pics of his kids and music and he seemed to have his sh*** together. I know people have their demons but I'm just truly struggling with this. I don't think anything nefarious at all. Just totally in shock.

I'm not sure but IF he was under the influence of drugs it makes sense to me. Drugs take you to an unbelievable high only to take to down to a depression most can't imagine.
yes I am thinking the same thing LaneGirl... 2 weeks ago I suddenly lost a friend whom I have known since I was 16 he was 51 when he passed..He Had been clean for years but struggled with demons and the demons took him over one last time.. Its very very sad and heartbreaking. He tried to hide it from all of us who knew him..
He has mention depression and addiction numerous times before

Chris Cornell was not depressed or in a suicidal state the evening he died ... this according to his wife.
Sources who spoke with Chris' wife Thursday morning tell TMZ, Vicky Cornell spoke with her husband during soundcheck before he took the stage in Detroit and after Wednesday night's show. According to our sources, Vicky says Chris was NOT in any way, shape or form in a suicidal state. She doubled down and said there were no signs he was at all depressed.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I just want to help everyone who is struggling when they have so much to give. I'm seriously just so heartbroken. I told my mom he was like her Elvis. [emoji26]
Yeah, he had struggled with depression since he was a teenager. If you listen to the lyrics of his songs spanning his career, they are pretty dark.
It's common for a person who has made the decision to end their life to feel relief, to be in a good mood and not act depressed. It's because the decision has been made; the light is at the end of the tunnel, their pain is coming to an end.
He's always seemed to have his head on straight, so this surprised me. I will miss him, his beautiful voice, and that face.
I totally understand my Elvis was Layne Stalely but Chris Cornell was my second after Layne. I am bummed!
I wish sometimes we had a hug button instead of thank. Hugs everyone that has been hit by this or any other loss that is hurting this evening. Embracing you all with peace and love.
