I think that can be safely ruled out. Her mother says she was not told anything by LE so that certainly rules out her agreeing to some deal.

As far as I know, it would not be up to the parents to agree that if JAG told where the body was he would not be charged...they might at some point be able to give their opinion as to penalty phase, but would be weighed against interests of community...at least this is what has happened in other cases...IMO

SAN DIEGO -- A private investigator hired by Amber Dubois' grandmother to find the missing teen told 10News he is the person who led San Diego County Sheriff's deputies to Amber's body.

How is it that if he was so sure she was there that he didn't go back into that area in August and find her? There are a lot of things that are not making sense with this.

Holy moly, that's a revelation. That story makes the "tracked her to the Pala Library" make sense. But it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

In my view, LE never took this case seriously enough.

I heard the publicist (Michelle B) on live radio a couple of weeks ago. She stated that they (the dogs and searchers) were allowed to go anywhere they wanted on the reservation. No one was stopping them, which they found odd.

She also said, FWIW, that it was almost as if the people on the reservation "expected" them.

However, she said the dogs did not lead them to the site on which Amber's body was located. I wonder why we've never heard of Larry Olmstead before? I wonder why Mo and Carrie say they are the only spokespersons for the case? I wonder why MB didn't mention this fact?

This information will be interesting as it develops, if it does.

So if this guy knew where exactly the dogs tracked her, and that's where the body was, why wasn't he the one to find the body all the way back to August?
It's a big area so I doubt police would be able to find the body off his tip unless the dog came really close-in which case one would think this guy would have found the body long ago.

What revelation? The police knew the dogs supposedly tracked her to the PALA area long ago. There was a report written. Police did follow up but couldn't confirm anyone had seen her at any of these locations. Now this guy thinks he called the police and they managed to find the body off his tip? They know about these dogs for a long time before this private investigator called them with his tip. And frankly it's a large area, so I doubt police would find the body off a tip that she was supposedly tracked by dogs to the pala library. I would think whoever gave them the tip knew the exact location of the body, or I doubt they would find it.

Baloney that he was the tip! Get some volunteer searchers around there, or hire more dogs. And Bart is full of it too regarding her comments about the reservation and its residents. It's not exactly a gated community. The area they were searching outside the library is desolate--who would they expect to stop them? Sarx--any comments about this man stating they were following or using a live scent??

The dogs supposedly tracked her to the area of the Pala reservation, not to the specific area where the body was found. If she was so easy to find off this PI's supposed tip, why didn't he find the body himself back in August? After all he was hired to look for her.
He might have called the LE with this information (which they already knew), but I sincerely doubt this is the tip that led them to the body. They found the body quickly so it looks like they knew exactly where too look. How would they find the body off the tip that she supposedly was in the library miles away from where the body was found?
