South Africa - Alexander Forba used baby to hit GF, baby died, Feb 2015

Alexander Forba has been charged with murder after allegedly picking his girlfriend's baby up by its feet and using it as a weapon to beat her. The killing took place at a gas station in Pretoria after an argument about the baby's paternity, and medics found the infant covered in a blanket and choking on its own vomit when they arrived.

The baby was believed to be a girl but hasn't been identified.

Forba - a foreign national whose nationality is not stated - has already appeared in court but the initial hearing's been delayed until next Tuesday. He hasn't been bailed.

The mother is reported to have a wound to her forehead.

I think the baby was just two or three days old, and the Times article I linked just stuck a story on at the end, about another six-month old who was killed; without explaining it's another case entirely...I think.
