She phoned Gounden on 25 Apr 2015 but it had nothing to do with this case. She only discussed sting with Gounden after CP was arrested

MS guided police from 22 Apr. When did you speak to DPP in Grahamstown for first time? "After CP appeared in court"

No one approached her for Sec 252 A authorization. She did not have authorization to do so

MS moves to the call with Gounden. What did you want to ascertain? "I called him to discuss admissibility of video"

"Gounden said there would not be a problem with respect of video"

Were you aware of communi between Gounden & Adv Zelda Swanepoel prior to sting? "No". Also not aware of communication with Malherbe Marais

The impression I received from Marais was that he thought I had granted Sec 252 a authorization.

It would only have made sense for Marais to grant the authorization. I don't know what was discussed with him

Goberdan says having insight into this case, sec 252 a authorization was not required

Goberdan says first time Gounden became aware of sting was after the fact & "he had learnt it from me"

MS says Marais will testify that he discussed sting with Gounden on 28 Apr (prior to sting). Goberdan can't dispute this

MS says news of CP's arrest broke on 1 May 2015. At that point Goberdan says she was still not aware of sting

Goberdan says further discussions of the sting were directly between her and MS

MS says Marais have guidelines for the sting to Gounden, who then passed that on

She was not approached about recordings between police & Siyoni & when he tried to call CP.

Goberdan says in law this would not be allowed

MS brings an application to reopen his case to rebut evidence of Gounden & to some extent, Goberdan's. TP objects

This would have been relevant to app for 252a authorization. TP closes his case.

Anyone would think there was a chance he was not guilty. That's what I'm picking up, support for a murderer and no shame.
