GUILTY South Africa - Jayde Panayiotou, 28, Port Elizabeth, 21 April 2015

  • #41
Any South African posters know if Christopher's murder charge means he's accused of physically helping murder Jayde himself, or can he be charged with murder for just planning/paying others to do it for him?

Wow how messed up can you get?
The Port Elizabeth man who has been arrested for the shocking murder of his pretty schoolteacher wife was allegedly having an affair with another woman. Police have quizzed 26-year-old Chanelle Coutts about her links to Christopher Panayiotou, who is due to appear in court tomorrow.
“You were the salt in my sea, the stars in my sky and my sand on earth. You have always been and will forever be beautiful in my eyes,”
LE set up a sting operation, a bouncer from his pub was concluding a plea deal with police that involved the operation to catch Panayiotou for orchestrating his wife’s killing. What a Jerk.....

Luthando Siyoli appeared in court in Port Elizabeth today. He's believed to have turned state's witness. If so, I hope prosecutors haven't brokered a deal that will see him serve a very short sentence (if he's guilty, of course).

Siyoli, Jayde’s husband Christopher Panayiotou and Sizwezakhe Vumazonke are all charged with involvement in Jayde’s murder. The trio face charges of murder, kidnapping, conspiracy to commit murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances.

All three are next due in court June 19th.

Defense claimed this week that the state wouldn't be ready for the bail application, but it is.

As far as I can make out, this won't be televised - it's just media tweets and posts.

It's a bit puzzling why it has been left to the very morning of the bail application, to decide if media will be allowed to livestream...

Adjourned before it's even started, to discuss the media application. :(

Such a waste of valuable court time, in my opinion. Why can't this be decided in advance?

Ah, reporter Karyn Maughn just explained that Christopher's lawyer will just read an affidavit from him, he won't be put in witness box to avoid any cross.

Oscar Pistorius did the same I think? But that didn't stop his affidavit coming back to haunt him...
