Just to sum up the state's case from Kayrn's tweets, which I wasn't here to post:

They say Jayde was forced into the boot (trunk) of a car and kidnapped, shot with an unregistered gun and that C gave police false info about the whereabouts of the middleman and also encouraged him to destroy SIM cards and flee Port Elizabeth.

State's asked for bail application to be postponed until May 20 and says it will hand in affidavit 'by Saturday'.

I though state said they were ready to proceed!

Bet judge will grant bail now, because of this delay.

R45,000 is about $3,800 or £2,402.

Oh. It has been postponed and C hasn't been bailed.

May 20th, 9am.

I just found out it's a national holiday here and all the stores are shut and nobody told me. Am out of milk, so drinking lemon tea. Without any lemon either.

Thank you so much for the updates, I will be watching this one.

Popped back for a min.

C is saying, via his affidavit, that he's affable, never violent, earns R3000 a month and employs 60 people, won't survive solitary, is complaining about prison toilets and says his alleged mistress vehemently denies being so and has been threatened and had to leave her job.

Also mentions how 'Oscar Pistorius got bail' so he should too....

OMG! Grrrrr. They're all cut from the same cloth.

I just heard on Radio 702 SA that Panayiotou's mistress has turned State witness. I suspect this is going to be quite an interesting case.

Chanelle Coutts, Christopher Panayiotou’s alleged mistress, has faced so much harassment from the media, public, “and other entities” that she had a nervous breakdown, her legal representative told Netwerk24.

“Danie Gouws, a Port Elizabeth lawyer, confirmed at the weekend that he had been assigned to look after the interests of Chanelle Coutts, the personnel manager of the OK Grocer in Algoa Park. Panayiotou owns the grocery store”.

Several days after Jayde was murdered, she was threatened by a number of people who were aware of the affair.

I believe she won't be present at the bail hearing which continues on Wednesday 20 May.

From your link JJudi, ty.

Last week, Panayiotou said he was appalled by the widespread public outcry to his wife’s murder.

Another arrogant wife killer! Panayiotous is appalled because a local farmer's murder didn't receive as much attention as his wife's murder?! How dare he even make such a comment!!
