No one's said it, but CP can't be giving evidence if they are wrapping up in that time frame including their other witnesses.

TP is already working on the appeal. He knows he's lost this round.

Blinking farce of a court system. If there were penalties for causing unreasonable delays they might improve.

Chetty adjourned the matter yesterday due to the unavailability of defence witnesses. This is absurd due to the long break since the last sittings.

This can only mean that CP won't be testifying or he would have done so yesterday as Price didn't make an application for CP to testify after any witnesses.

It will be very interesting if Price decides to appeal and his application for leave to do so was granted by Chetty. The entire record of the trial has to be supplied to the SCA, and they would then be aware of the massively incriminating secret recording.

My prediction is that he’ll be found guilty of murder (premeditated) which is a Schedule 6 offence which carries a life sentence of 25 years and that term must be served before being eligible to apply for parole.

Who knows what Price has up his sleeve. I don't trust him at all.

It would only have been worse for him if he testified and cross-examination would have been a shocker. We all know where this is going. He’s going down, down, down and it couldn’t happen to a more deserving guy. I hope he rots in prison.

Panayiotou cannot escape this.
He was sus, checking his accomplice for 'wires'.
Not smarter than cops.

Before he rots in prison, hope he is abused +++ by inmates.
Probably to avoid this, and a great pity, he will be isolated from others!!

The trial was postponed to today for the defence to travel to East London to consult with another possible expert witness but details of this witness were not revealed in court.

Terry Price told the Court that they would be ready to proceed today and intended calling Panayiotou family friends Maurizio Bertolani and Anthony Emmett to the stand.

While it is unclear what Bertolani – a distant relative of Panayiotou’s – will testify about, Emmett had worked at the family’s OK Grocer at the time of the murder and will probably be called to refute the evidence of state witness Mawonga Ndedwa. Ndedwa had claimed that CP often used his phone to contact self-confessed middleman Luthando Siyoni, prior to Jayde’s murder.

Price said they would also call CP’s mistress, Chanelle Coutts, at a later stage to testify. She had been listed as a State witness but became available to the defence when State advocate Marius Stander opted not to call her to testify.

CP is accused alongside alleged hitman Nemembe and co-conspirator Sibeko. They will have a chance to present their defence once CP’s lawyers have closed his case.

TP says they are no longer calling their cell phone expert. But he will put email correspondence between them before court

TP says DDPP Malherbe Marais declined to consult. Another DPPP Selwyn Gounden is called to the stand. He is in charge of Organised Crime

Gounden says he was involved in entrapment procedures but not directly with authorizations, that was job of Marais

TP says police testified that Gounden was called for advice on entrapment between CP & Luthando Siyoni (LS). He says he is not aware of that
