Nothing like an appeal to the ConCourt before things even start. Surely both sides would have to go to the Court of Appeal first to apply for leave to do so. I thought there was a court recess next week. Oh dear, we're in for another long drawn-out affair.

This trial was supposed to run until some time in June.

A former Sunshine Coast man killed with his wife and one of his three children in a brutal triple axe murder in South Africa had planned to return to Australia to live, a former colleague said.
Sunshine Coast real estate agent Paul Freney said the family lived in Buderim between 2012 and 2014, when Mr van Breda returned to his South African homeland with his family to establish a private school, his area of expertise.

The family had moved from Perth in 2010 so that Mr van Breda could establish the first Australian branch of luxury German real estate brand Engel and Volkers in Mooloolaba.

"They had a house here; they were coming back, there was no doubt about that," he said.
"He left to start up another private school but it was only going to be about a three-year move, then they were going to move back here."
Mr Freney described Mr van Breda as a hardworking businessman who remained a nice guy.
