Just catching up. Did I read 9 dishcloths with DNA? Did he really wash out 9 cloths and hang them on the line?

It seems to me that he is scuppered with DNA evidence heavily weighing against him. Always a little concerned if there is DNA on various items that is unreadable. I can see Botha trying to get his teeth into that. Hopefully Otto will be able to shoot him down.

Found it a little hard to follow (accent and info) but thought HvB was anxious, moving about and swallowing! I didn't hear anything re dishcloths today, although they have been mentioned in the media previously I think.

Nervous maybe.........I had a cringe of memory where it looks to me he is fighting off sleep!!!

"According to the State's list of evidence a mop and nine dishcloths were analysed, although there hadn't been obvious blood stains on them. There was, however, blood in the corner of the shower and on a towel".

You could say that from the time he "regained consciousness" he had plenty of time to kill ... no, he'd already done that ... so he filled in that time, no doubt hoping that Marli would die from her wounds. I guess it was time for him to have a shower, wash floors, and probably try and remove all traces of blood in places that shouldn't have had any.

Quite frankly, I can't see how this case ever got to trial, and yet Botha says HvB can't wait to tell his story.

I've a new theory for how he may have attacked Marli. Only because her DNA doesn't seem to be on him unlike the others. It's possible Marli didn't hear the attacks or Henri shouted to her to stay in her room because it was dangerous to come out, while he attacked first Rudi in bed, then ambushed Martin, then attacked Teresa as she started to run back to her room. Then Henri calls Marli to come and help Teresa because the attacker has gone, Marli is crouching as if tending to Teresa when Henri attacks Marli so she is not standing and her blood spatter misses Henri because he can attack her at arms length rather than up close. Maybe that is why she didn't die, because the impact was reduced at a further range.
