I saw an interesting tweet that it was very unlikely it would have been a black intruder as HVB stated because the average height of SA black men is 166cm (5.4 1/2 inches). He claims the intruder was as big as he!!!

Apparently HvB described the intruder as 186cm which is just over 6ft 1 inch.

https://businesstech.co.za/news/gen...tting-taller-but-not-so-much-in-south-africa/

South African men have shown the third lowest rate of growth in the world, having increased height by a mere 1.4 cm over the past 100 years.

South African men are quite short, ranked 47th overall for the average height of 166.7 cm (5'4) (up from 165.3 cm in 1914).

Just more BS from HvB, or should I say just another tall tale.

For anyone who missed Judge Desai's explosive remarks to Botha's objections at 27:47

Prime the video I watched must have had a microphone nearer Desai or maybe it was because I was wearing earphones but Desai sounded as though he was really shouting. I am going to go through my history to see if my link was different.

INDEFENSIBLE: Van Breda - a book written by by Nick van der Leek ($4.90 ON KINDLE)

How does one defend the indefensible? Who are those involved in defending the indefensible, and what are their motivations? Why defend the indefensible to begin with?

Investigative photojournalist Nick van der Leek, fresh from a triumphant run dealing with the enormous JonBenét Ramsey and Madeleine McCann archives, now brings his true crime scalpel to bear on home soil. He brings prescient insight into the distortions of the infamous trial heard in Keerom Street, Cape Town, the latter described evocatively as a kind of “Diagon Alley” of courtroom intrigue.

As for Van Breda:

Who is he?
What motive could he possibly have?
What riddle is revealed behind the emergency call “chuckle”, and what is the answer to the riddle?
What value is there in prognosticating on a case before the verdict?

Interesting article, thanks Estelle. :tyou: I had wondered about his aeroplane brooch and had thought about asking in here if anyone knew the significance of it. So, just a gift from his girlfriend. Okay.

But surely he must know a man's choice of tie can be seen as sending a message, and that his best choice would be a plain tie in a conservative colour, or diagonal stripes at most. His choice of the "Starry Night" tie seems to me to have something of the middle finger about it.

Nice article @JennaEtheridge: His tie and aeroplane brooch signal [psychological attempts to] fly away from it all.

I hope he won’t be ‘flying away’ anywhere — let alone back here to Australia.

Gosh. Yes, he certainly does. If I didn't know anything about either of them but saw a photo of them together, I'd assume they were brothers.

I didn’t see a great many physical characteristics rather, they seem to have personalities (and, no doubt, characters) that are almost identical.

I see it too! What stands out is that they're both fantasists, logic isn't a strong point, at times child-like, they've got a superior air about them in manner and speech.
I'm thinking both charmed/manipulated their parents and others with their good looks and a sweet demeanor they can turn on or off like a switch.
Tortoise's link to the article about narcissistic rage/injury, imo, applies to both of them too.
