Soccer fans in South Africa are expressing their shock after the Kaiser Chiefs' star midfielder George Lebese was arrested for allegedly beating up his girlfriend and damaging her car in Johannasburg.
'Celebrated Kaizer Chiefs star midfielder George Lebese has handed himself over to the police after being charged with abusing his girlfriend and damaging her car.
Lebese, who has been with Chiefs since 2008, allegedly beat up his girlfriend on Sunday evening in Silverton, Tshwane.
He also allegedly broke the windows of her car, police spokesman Lieutenant Kay Makhubela said.'
Lebese is due to appear in court in Pretoria.
