Kris...welcome...glad you found your way. :) I would have no idea how to hang myself. I wonder if there were any computer searches on such? And the length of the scarf is interesting. We are still not certain WHERE she was. And I'll look for confirmation that there wasn't a note...but that's my recollection.

As for the DA and charges re; murder...maybe the police investigation, at the time of the death, was so poor they had little evidence to work with...I would not doubt it. I read rumor Dineen (sp), the school resource officer, is tight with the Police Chief. The cover up I see happening on the school committee gives me much doubt...

I ran some thread ideas past JBean, I'm waiting for a response. I know this one will closing soon, and we need a place to go, peeps! :) We will be branching out into topic specific threads...for newbies, this happens with most cases. The trick is getting good thread topics to keep the forum alive. JBean has posted a thread detailing the do's and don't's of starting threads. If anyone has any questions, check there and ask, I did. :)

They are in protection mode, waddup. It's a common reaction in a dysfunctional system from my observations, over the years.

DON'T TALK, rule #1.

Minimize and rationalize, rule #2

I recall a saying..."we are only as sick as our secrets"...these are some sick cookies, imo.

I can share with you that not every person who committs suicide leaves a note. Many times, suicide is not planned and is done in the "spur of the moment". The person who decides to kill themselves has rationalized it for themselves. To end whatever pain they feel and to relieve it.

I, at this point, see nothing that leans towards others involved in Ms Prince's death. As far as the length of a scarf or any other item used, it can be done. I had a childhood friend who was in a hospital and used what she wore to hang herself on the door in a ladies room. It isn't the length, but the knot over ones neck.

I just wanted to add that if any other person(s) was involved, don't you think that Phoebe Prince would have fought like her life depended on it, literally? Bruising would have been seen on her and recorded in autopsy.

imvho

Someone sent me a message reminding me that Hope Witsell died the month before Phoebe by hanging with a scarf because of bullying. Apparently, it was all over the news.

Here's one headline about it...something to consider...
"Hope Witsell was just beginning the journey from child to teen. The middle-school student had a tight-knit group of friends, the requisite poster of “Twilight” heartthrob Robert Pattinson and big plans to become a landscaper when she grew up.
But one impetuous move robbed Hope of her childhood, and eventually, her life. The 13-year-old Florida girl sent a topless photo of herself to a boy in hope of gaining his attention. Instead, she got the attention of her school, as well as the high school nearby.
The incessant bullying by classmates that followed when the photo spread put an emotional weight upon Hope that she ultimately could not bear.

yeah very true. I only asked about the note because I couldn't remember a really verifying statement saying no, although there probably was one. It seemed to me that most of it was saying "none reported". As Laurence mentioned, if there had been one it most likely would have been reported by now.

I also agree that she likely would have had bruises and scratches if another person was involved, although depending on the size of the other person, if there was one, maybe not? I don't know too much about that sort of thing - the only show I watch that deals with murder and things of that nature is Dexter :). I do believe it was most likely suicide, I just think some people have raised interesting questions or points about it. Questions that may likely be answered if police reports/crime scene reports/autopsy results/etc. are ever released.

I don't know much about hanging, so the points Kris raised about the type type and length of scarf seemed interesting to me. As both myself and I believe Paladine mentioned, it's possible she did a computer search or she just went ahead and did it. I don't see myself doing it (not that I see myself committing suicide at all, but anyway) just because it's definitely not necessarily quick and painless and is apparently a horrific find. I've seen pictures of people that have hanged themselves before but not for a long time, and at this point it's not something I want to look at as this case is already weighing heavily on my mind and pictures of the act are not something I want to see right now.

yeah...hanging would not be my first choice. Too painful, in my mind. I'd prefer to fall asleep...I'd take a poison route, I think...

ETA: NOT encouraging any form of self harm, EVER. Email me...we'll chat, instead...:)

HE SPEAKS OUT! Says we need the media for help...MUST LISTEN!
