Yes...saw those...they have them on all of the girls.
BAD things written there, and achieving nothing in terms of justice, IMO.

I fully agree with you. Achieving nothing.

I saw that earlier. People need to be careful. Keep that up, and these perps will be martyrs in no time...IMO.

I actually think it's a good defense pr strategy, in a round about way. Get them attacked enough online that the public FEELS like they got justice...portray them as victims of online bullying and threats..."enough, now...see they paid", kinda deal...not good.

Those monsters' court date is September 15th :(

A whole summer.. :((

It could well be much longer than that, some of them will probably be away at college by then, which will prompt further delays and postponements. Their attorneys will want to put a lot of time and distance between the charges and any possible trial, in order to let the outrage die down among potential jurors.

The wheels of justice grind way too slowly these days.

Is it just me, or does it seem like things are getting out of control? I'm furious that it happened, and I'm so glad they are being formally charged, but holy crap, their pictures are everywhere, people are making death threats, it's getting a little scary!

According to this and please excuse me if it's already been posted, she dated the guy for 2 weeks. 2 weeks!
Yeah...sad...

I've seen enough pictures, and read enough articles and opinion pieces to feel reasonably assured it was jealousy. Jealousy of Phoebe...her looks, her 'ways', her personality, her intelligence, the attention she recieved...all possibilities, in my mind.

Dating him just made it worse...and then if, as accused, he turned on her after 'being' with her? The reported 'Football hero of SHHS' publicly shaming her? Could it get any more heartbreaking? I fear so. More will be revealed, imo...

I agree. People need to stop. Don't harass them. It'll only backfire. You don't to need set out to ruin people...some do a good enough job of that on their own.

This seems worth noting ftr. I had overlooked it before:

South Hadley...is about as far from the image of Massachusetts as an affluent Irish-Catholic enclave as it is possible to get without leaving the Bay State. It is one of several fairly grim, lower-middle-class towns that line the Connecticut River valley, about 90 miles from Boston. The locals speak with broad, flat accents. The literacy standards in the schools are below the national average.

"How bullying scarred my life"
"I was 14, and also new to public school, having attended a private single-sex school in grades four to nine, with a year at a private co-ed school in grades seven and 10. Boys were an alien species. I had no idea how to dress fashionably, having just spent the past six years wearing a school uniform. I had pimples. I was socially awkward.

I quickly became the brunt of merciless, relentless public bullying by a small group of boys. They nicknamed me "Doglin" — a "dog" being the most vile name, then, one could bestow on a young girl. They barked and howled at me whenever I walked through the hallways, their taunts echoing off the metal lockers and terrazzo floors. One brought in a dog biscuit and put it on my desk in class.

I was terrified and traumatized. Like many bullying victims I and my worried parents felt helpless to stop it. I was lucky enough to make a few good female friends and to excel intellectually, appearing on a regional high school quiz show and helping our school reach its quarter-finals for the first time in years.

But the daily, visible, audible torture continued. In desperation, at 16, I started seeing a therapist, who recommended I take medication — I refused — to handle my anxiety.

Our teachers saw and heard it every day for years and did nothing.

I am related to Flannery, though I have never met her. I haven't seen her mother in over 10 years.

I just found out about Flannery's involvement a couple of days ago, and I am heartbroken. I have cried today for Phoebe and also for all of the bullies whose hearts are so full of hate that they find pleasure in tormenting others. It is sickening.

Thanks for posting, irie, welcome, my heart goes out to you...this is such a heartbreaking case. And having a family tie, of any degree, must make it even more so. Happy to have you with us...

American Morning, CNN, tomorrow (Thursday, April 8th)...and remember, Dr. Phil is on the case tomorrow, as well...

""The Teaser” is a preview of the guests we have lined up for the next day – so you know when to tune in (and when to set your alarm!). Guests and times are always subject to change."
8:30AM Luke Gelinas' 17-year-old son was tutored by Phoebe Prince and knew her bullies. He'll tell us what went wrong – and how the community can move forward.
We've seen his name before, in a few articles on this thread. He's also the parent who said that Sayer said, the school was warned about Phoebes vulnerbilities (link posted today)...wonder if they'll ask about that...

I doubt I'll be awake that early...hope some else reports back for us...

I'm glad someone else asked specifically if it was Phoebe. I don't think it is, but it would be good to clear it up.

ETA: Here is the pic:

Looks like there may be confirmation of that being Phoebe on the ground on this picture thread.

Sickening.

Examining the photo there are some distinctive qualities...look at the "grid" like brick on the ground..? Is it brick? What is that THING behind them? Can we somehow verify the location as South Hadley? Or near the school? The photo looks to be taken from above...? Second floor? I hope someone from the area will speak up...they may not be able to confirm the people, but even the location would be a start...any ideas, people?
