Phoebe, 15, was found hanging in the stairway leading to her family's second-floor apartment in South Hadley on January 14.

LEADING to? SO she was OUTSIDE? IF true...whats the likehood a teenager would hang themselves outside?

I think it has to be the interior stairs via the front door, in either a closet or wardobe (those have been mentioned in a number of reports). It was in the afternoon during daylight, somebody other than her sister would have spotted her almost immediately. Given the nasty nature of those kids that were mocking after she died I'm sure that some would have taken pictures and they'd have been all over the 'net.

That house is also on a major road. In a tv report that had film of in front of school the traffic looked pretty heavy.

Exactly. I have read so many reports of students that were "punished" only to hear O'Brien say, 1 was suspended for 1 day. That's it. Some media reports have been deceiving, IMO.

I have heard in the stairwell TOO many times...I have a feeling she was outside...and I can't shake it, yet...I would love to, if we had dependable, consistent reports. Look at the school investigation...I'm wondering how reliable the death investigation was...

Meanwhile, a friend of the Prince family is pointing the finger of blame directly at school officials.

"They said she was safe...A week before, they said they knew about what was happening," said Darby O’Brien, a friend of the Prince family.

O’Brien accused school administrators and teachers of doing nothing to stop the bullying that likely led to Phoebe's suicide. Prince hanged herself after three months of relentless tormenting, online and in school.

"This was loud and clear, in hallways, classrooms, the library, the cafeteria, on school grounds, and if you look at what these kids have been charged with, a number of them have been charged with disrupting an assembly, so you gotta believe there were teachers in that assembly," said O’Brien.

O’Brien said the responsibility lies with the adults in charge.

"If I were a parent of one of the kids who's been charged, I would be as angry as everybody else because the officials let them down, too...they didn't do their job," said O’Brien.

Officials are holding a school committee meeting in South Hadley next week. O'Brien said he plans to attend, and he's urging parents to demand more answers from administrators.

here's another version...

Prince hanged herself in her home, days after accepting an invitation to a winter school dance and only months after immigrating to the small western Massachusetts town from Ireland. Her younger sister found Prince's body in the stairwell leading to the family's second-story apartment.

So...was it an interior or exterior staircase? It appears to me any interior staircase would have to be from the front door, why have 2 at the back? And who lives in the bottom floor, how do they enter their apt? From the front? IF the tenants on the bottom floor use the front door, why would Phoebe choose to hang herself in the interior front staircase? Why not go inside her home? If she was just chased around school, wouldn't she want to get indoors? In her home? WHY the stairwell? So many questions...

I emailed the journalist who reported she was found outside. We'll see if I get a response...

I agree. No way, imo, she would do it outside! And knowing her sister would be the next one home? I also want to know if the scarf she was found in, her christmas scarf, is the same one as she wore to school that day.

I know Phoebe had a can thrown at her from their car while she was walking home, but I haven't seen anything that said these girls were FOLLOWING her home??? If so, that just makes this bullying even worse, IMO.

Several reports stated that they were in a car, driving slowly and yelling obscene comments at her. Then someone threw the can at her from the car. I will attempt to find a link for this somewhere.......

How far did they follow her? Are there video cameras, did they check them? I recall businesses on that street from my mapquest search...

After reviewing numerous FB and other web comments, and also the list of charges filed....I am tending to believe that AR may actually have NOT been involved in the stalking, harassment and bullying aspects of this case. Other than the fact that one of the girls is said to be an ex-girlfriend of his, who may have taken it upon herself to become a ring leader in the attacks, he seems to not have the same charges as the others. This goes along with the statements of other students that he was not part of the bullying.
