A desperate search is underway for Matt Opperman, a 50-year-old American cyclist who vanished nearly two weeks ago in the rugged mountains of Jaén, Andalucía.

Matt, a regional competitive cyclist based in Málaga, was last seen on January 25 after heading to the Segura de la Sierra area in his black Volkswagen van with his turquoise YETI e-bike.

His family believes he set out on a bike ride near Castillo de Segura de la Sierra, but he hasn’t been seen or heard from since. His van has since been located in the area, intensifying concerns for his safety.
