I get they have to protect their park, but that quote from the spokesperson has an ick-factor to it for me. Would like to know what else was said.

Regardless, hope the guests fully recover.

Why did it have an "ick factor" for you? What exactly was said?

Kind of ick for me, also, in that linked article:

A total of 14 people were injured - including two "seriously" - on the Tomahawk ride at the PortAventura theme park on Sunday morning

The statement added that it was "completely unrelated to the operation and maintenance of our attractions, which meet the highest safety standards and are subject to rigorous daily inspections"
.

Now this might be a translation issue, or reporting issue, but if the tree is tall enough to fall on your attraction -- wouldn't you be responsible for making sure that tree is healthy?

Certainly, these winds may be unusual, and blew just branches into the ride, but the lead paragraph reads:

More than a dozen people have been hurt after a tree fell onto a rollercoaster in Spain.

bbm

So did the winds blow branches, or did a tree fall onto the coaster?

It's in the article linked. Seems their only concern is that people know the park didn't do it. People got seriously injured at your park. Whether it was due to your negligence or not, a statement extended your warm wishes to the family is appropriate. Immediately stepping back and saying "not my fault" is not. MOO.

I would like to kindly disagree. Saving your businesses reputation is always more important than meaningless good wishes.
