I'm sure it's not. Age of consent in most states is between 16-18. In Illinois it's 17.

Hoppy

And if her parents were dead or missing, she may have been an emancipated minor.

These comments,IMO, tell of her fate. What does going "down deeper" have to do with disappearing. Sounds more like being buried.

In the second comment he is talking in past tense. He doesn't say "She takes off like this for a few hours when she needs to vent", as if this was just another incident of that, he said "she would" as in she used to...as in she won't be doing it anymore because she's dead now.

And how odd to speak negatively of his mother in law's disappearance then make the remark that there have been indications that Toutgens is still alive (I don't think he believes that). He goes on to say "... she has yet to surface. Peterson hopes the tendency does not run in the family".

Is he saying he'd rather she be dead than to be alive somewhere? Or (I hate to even say this but)hope she doesn't surface like Laci Peterson did. I know Laci is not related to her but this man has an odd choice of words..."go down deeper", "surface" "where she wants to be" Did she like water?

Still looking for the other wives.

Excellent Point! I hadn't noticed the use of the past tense.

Late last night on the way home after the show I spoke to Mark Furham — he was driving away from the scene of Sgt. Peterson’s house with my producer Steph Watts. Mark told me the local police are annoyed with me since we read on the air the portion of wife #3’s letter where she complained that she had called the police on her then husband Sgt. Peterson multiple times and included in the letter that the police did not take reports. (Our panel also seized upon this statement in the letter.)

Of course, they would be "annoyed" with Greta!! This just tanked their credibility and put their force on notice for the AG! (Which is a good thing unless you are them!) What they did and did not do about her complaints are going to come back to haunt them. They didn't act on them and she wound up dead plus now we also know that there could be a cover up involving ranks on up the line.

I totally support Greta in making it public. People in Bolingbrook need to realize what is going on in their police force. Kudos, Greta!

Very convenient. I still think he knew her before she was 17

But at least one man feels for the police sergeant whose wife disappeared nearly a week ago.
"I know what he's going through," said Craig Stebic, the Plainfield pipefitter who has a missing wife of his own. "Especially with you media and everything."

So did he drag all the kids along when he walked to get it?! This would have been after 9:00 pm, Right? He would have to get the kids out of bed to do this...or have left them alone.

I'm from the area, and that's not a common airport for commercial flights. It's a very small airport named Clow. I've never heard of anyone ever taking a commercial flight out of Clow. Midway and O'Hare in Chicago, definitely yes, but not Clow...

Unless she knew a private pilot or knew how to fly herself, I'm certain she wouldn't have taken a commercial flight out of Clow. That just doesn't make any sense.

Actually you would be suprised at how often that happens- not just there, but all over the US and not just with police officer/husbands. The victim backs down, cops are able to smooth things over, or one of the parties leaves the scene and promises not to come back that night and cops just shrug it off. Though I am sure it didn't help that Drew was a police officer- that gave the cops more reasons not to write it up.

This is in my backyard. Bolingbrook is less than 2 miles from me.

Yes, you heard correctly. He is 30 years older. What's wrong with that? My husband is 13 years older than I am... IMO age doesn't make a difference.

They were diving into retention ponds in the Bolingbrook area yesterday, so unfortunately things don't look too good for Stacy... :(

For me the problem is that she was only 17 when he impregnated her.

Age makes a difference when a man almost 50 is going after a girl who is 17. I still believe he was seeing her long before she turned 17 and it only came out when he was ready for it to come out. Men who date/marry such young girls are usually going through middle age crisis and are proving their virility. However, DP wanted complete control which he could not get with an older woman. "Raise 'em like you want 'em", is an old term which comes to mind.

I don't have anything against a woman being with an older man unless it encroaches on the woman being a minor when the affair began. I hope, for your sake, he waited until you were of legal age.

Volunteers on Saturday scoured a forest preserve for signs of Stacey Peterson, a missing mother of two.

The area on which searchers were focusing was near the home of Peterson, 23, who was reported missing Monday, and in the same vicinity as a retention pond where divers looked on Friday.

Here's a thought. It is said that he had GPS on her car. What if he DID? That would help investigators A LOT. It's also been said that he had GPS on her cell- like a program he could watch where her phone was located. Either way, that's a leg up for the police.

OMG! I was pondering last night if he knew Craig Stebic. Hopefully soon they can have other things to share...like a cell!! :behindbar :behindbar

Great point! I hope they have been able to locate his reciever unit if he did have GPS on her!

No, it doesn't surprise me in the least. I grew up in a county where "good ole' boy" politics prevailed among LE and the judicial system. Of course, since I was a bit of a rebel...this played in my favor. :innocent:

Drew Peterson maintains that Stacy Ann is "where she wants to be." When asked if she removed anything from the house before leaving, he told FOX News she took cash, a passport and a bikini
I am just now catching up on all the articles, so forgive me if this was already discussed...

Hmmm...he's quite aware of her belongings to know that she took only those 3 items. She didn't take underclothes, or a toothbrush, just those 3 items???
Does anyone know if she traveled out of the country in her young life for her to have needed a passport?

I guess those are the only items you need in Jamaica. He's also claimed that she took a substantial amount of cash from the safe and the deed to the house.

Do you need a passport for Jamaica?

Does anyone think that Bruce might have helped her disappear? If Sarge was jealous of him (which I find VERY likely), could Sarge have done something to implicate Bruce to force him to help? Something just doesn't set right with me about Bruce after watching the interview. Maybe it was Bruce saying what a good guy he was and all of that. I noticed Bruce is the only person talking about her still being found alive...which to me is curious when her family feels so certain it is not the case.

Stacey had made definite plans to see Bruce to paint. How do we know she didn't actually go to that house and whatever took place...happened there? Bruce could have been a witness and Sarge could have threatened him in order to insure his silence.
