Illinois State Police told FOX News on Sunday that "new information" prompted its appeal for more information about possible sightings of the cars that belong to Stacy Peterson or her husband, Drew, around the time that the woman vanished.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen the vehicles on Oct. 28 or 29 — the time the 23-year-old Bolingbrook mother's disappearance — to come forward.

snip...Meanwhile, FOX News’ Laura Ingle spoke briefly with Drew Peterson off-camera Sunday in front of his home. When asked about reports that he was seen with another man hauling a large blue barrel to his sport-utility vehicle the day his wife disappeared, Peterson said he has nothing to say about that.

In addition to the missing blue barrel, police are reported to be looking for scuba diving weights missing from Drew's house, which may have led investigators to search numerous ponds. When asked about his missing gear, Peterson told FOX his scuba weights were not missing.

The family of Stacy Peterson searched for the missing woman again Saturday, but the cold weather made the outdoor hunt more difficult.

About 75 people scoured a park near Peterson's Bolingbrook home, but the brush was thick and had ice in some patches, said Beverly Baridon, 53, a volunteer from Wheaton.

ACandyARose has some great timelines posted with quotes from key players and the links she got them from. One post confirms what I have been saying all along. Drew knew Stacy when she was WAY underage.

"According to the former wife's sister the former wife got several letters telling her who her husband was dating. The letter gave out names and she actually called them and demanded answers. Stacy's name was in that letter and she called her. Thats how she found out about Stacy according to the former wife's sister. Never said who wrote the letter." -

lol, in their photos of the car police have blurred out the license plates of the vehicles and the sticker on the back of the Denali. But Greta had already posted photos of the vehicles and she didn't blur the sticker. (the license plates were not showing)

BTW, if LE is looking for the man who carried the blue barrel with Drew P, why haven't they released a composite sketch?

Greta has mentioned that LE is now releasing info and she says that she believes that shows they are desperate.
I have heard that there comes a point in every investigation where LE knows what happened, know how it happened, knows who was involved and is close to an arrest- except for one little bit of info. And it is my belief that is where LE is with this case.
They have held everything very close, closer than most departments. No leaks until the last couple of days. Suddenly there are small leaks. I believe they are now trolling for that last little bit of info.

Feel free to post whenever and whatever you want (of course following the rules).

Do you live near by the Peterson's or how did the case catch your eye? Mine was the Stanley sisters.

State Police investigators, who are leading the probe into the 23-year-old Bolingbrook mother's disappearance, are looking for anyone who saw vehicles owned by Stacy Peterson or her husband, Drew, on Oct. 28 or 29 -- when she vanished.

snip...Stacy Peterson's family members say they last saw her at 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 27. Drew Peterson, who resigned from the Bolingbrook Police Department after his wife vanished, said he last saw her about 11 a.m. Oct. 28. Her cell phone was last used at 9 p.m. that day, according to the State Police.

snip...FBI spokesman Ross Rice said the agency has no reason to believe federal laws were broken, which would give it jurisdiction. But it has agreed to help, he said, just as it has with the ongoing investigation of another missing suburban woman: Lisa Stebic of Plainfield, who vanished April 30.

Good evening everyone! I've missed the latest over the Thanksgiving weekend and am trying to get caught up. Did they mean that Stacy's cell phone was last used at 9pm on Oct. 28? How could that be (assuming of course that she wasn't alive then) or did DP use it to throw everyone off?

The belief here has been that if the cell was used at that time, that most likely Drew used it to call his phone, so that he could have the proof of the 9 pm phone call that Stacy was leaving him.

Wonder if he bothered to drive a distance or if the cell towers used are all the same?? IOW the triangulation will be interesting.

That's what I thought might be, him trying to make it look like she was alive then.

Even if he had driven a distance, it could help to pinpoint a direction and a general area. It all depends on how clearly Drew P was thinking at that point.

I wonder too! It would be great if it could be proved he called himself, or was in the area the call was placed from.

Cassandra said she called him about 11 or 11:30 pm. But I have always wondered if she had tried to call him earlier and maybe didn't get an answer? After all she had been trying to find Stacy since much earlier in the day.

That is most likely why police are now releasing the info about the vehicles and asking if the public had seen them on the day in question. They want to know who was in the vehicles as well as areas to concentrate on in the search.

What's confusing is that there were reports - supposedly leaks from "police sources" - that there was NO record of the 9 PM call that Drew had told police about. That never made sense to me - since that was one of the first things DP told LE about, and he knows enough about phone records to know that he shouldn't lie about something that would be so easily checked.

If the article above is true, then there is a record of a 9 PM call that Sunday, just no proof that Stacy actually made it. To your point - it could have been Drew using her phone to make it appear that she called him. That would make more sense to me. He tried to create a phony record (no pun intended).

Oh yes, I think that too. There really isn't any other place for them to start at this point.

DP said he has an alibi for the time Kathleen was killed - it's Stacy. That could be a problem now.

I don't think he thought ahead that far ~ that Kathleen would be exhumed and a ME would say it is homicide. He'll really have a problem if the state's ME agrees with Dr. Baden but still it might be hard to bring charges against him.
