It looks pretty skull-like to me. Upside down, with the teeth facing up. But then, I don't know if I'm seeing what I want to see. I'm usually the one NOT seeing all the pareidolia stuff on here, though. Generally all I see in those are blobs and shadows, and here, I'm like 'could well be'.

how could the eye socket be visible with the skull upside down? here is a good reference photo w mandible gone (except sister is claiming photo shows lower jaw not upper jaw, even though 'teeth' in the underwater image are pointed upwards); pls note the 'hole' i.e. foramen magnum is midline. im really trying to see what her sister is seeing because I appreciate all her continued work but I just can't get my brain to agree :///

I didn't see it that orientation that way.

Not with the base of the skull facing the camera.

I can see the base of the skull, upper teeth facing the top of the picture. Eye socket visible below.

Mandible separate, in the background, above the skull, lying right way up.

What a strange predicament.
I hope Cassandra gets the resources she needs to see this through.
Shouldn't be this hard to get it investigated thoroughly.
