I made it through maybe 10 minutes of that movie. All I could think of was being 7 or 8 years old and running around the neighborhood with a stick for a sword and a trash-can lid for a shield. My dialogue was of roughly the same quality.

I can see where you think that but it is not commonplace for this to happen. Think about all the schools prek-12 and the colleges and it does not happen that much, you make it sound like kids get shot daily at school. IMO it has happened too much but to arm teachers is a mistake.

I'm sure it looks that way when Narla watches news from the U.S.

I just finished Judgment Ridge about the two high school kids who killed the Dartmouth professors. That murder took place shortly after Columbine and was often linked to it in media accounts. But the authors point out that violence by teenagers had actually been on the decline for more than a decade, and the figures from Columbine and other school shootings didn't change that.

I don't think guns will protect against terrorists. Certainly not their bombs. And when there is some sort of attack and mass chaos, even extremely highly trained shooters will have trouble hitting the target and not an innocent person who's running. That is such a false argument that this guy is using.

I wouldn't send kids into a school where teachers are armed.

Check your stats Sisters, there is a school/university shoot up at least once a year in the states.
