Did anyone hear the guest Judge on HLN a few mins.ago? He was saying that JM was keeping the trial going due to wanting to be on TV and to get more money. Hello...isn't that the other team?!!!

I didn't hear that but, um, JM is a government employee on a salary. And, yes, you're right...when is the last time JM had a migraine or filed motion after motion to get jurors dismissed? If anyone is digging the TV time its the borderline psychopathic defendant.

Did the investigators test the DNA of that bit of blood specifically? I do wonder whose blood it was because your idea seems very plausible to me!!

Good question. They found her DNA in the bloody palm print, but no mention of her DNA anywhere else.

Rewatching Ryan Burn's testimony. According to the prior discussion, JA was supposed to arrive at Ryan's on the morn of June 4. She got there a day later. Question--if she had preplanned to visit TA and kill him, why didn't she tell Burns that she would arrive later than the morn of the 4th. Is that evidence that the visit to TA was actually unplanned, or is it just that she didn't expect her visit to TA to last so long (i.e., she was intending to kill TA right away)?

So, why didn't JA just stick with the intruder story?

I wish she would've. This would've been a very short case. Such an impossible scenario: two killers who have no problem shooting and stabbing a man but would let a witness walk out of the house unharmed. :floorlaugh:

Brought this over from last threat as it closed before I got it posted :seeya:

I know "wifey" .... I have written before that I am almost making myself sick following this trial. I just have a sick feeling in my stomach as things are drawing to the end. I am so paranoid about victims getting justice with today's jurors, multi-media and corrupt defence attorneys throwing so many lies and so much spin into their cases. Something really, really needs to be done about that. I digress ....

But ... anyway ... I just wanted to express that I know EXACTLY how you're feeling. I can't understand how she won't be convicted of premeditated murder and given the DP. But I am still sick about the FCA case and still can't understand that either. I do, however, believe that this jury is very smart ... something I don't believe the FCA jury was ... they didn't understand the "reasonable doubt" instruction. They would only convict "beyond ANY doubt". Breaks my heart. That is one B...ch who should no longer be roaming free on this planet. Poor little Caylee.

OMG ... my emotions are out of control. I can't wait till this is over. I need to get my life back. Sorry for venting ... but you guys on this board are the only peeps who will listen

Besides, I'm sure I'm not alone in this panic-stricken state .... okaaaay ... eeeaaaaaannnd ... breathing slow and deep .. ... and ... again .....

I know that case was traumatic. It certainly was for me. But using it as a standard bearer is like saying there are plane crashes now and then so believing that there is a slight possibility (or greater) that the plane you are on is going to crash, is a reasonable concern.

It's really not.

Millions of planes fly every day. Your odds of being in a plane crash are one in 11 million.

Thousands of murder trials happen each year in the U.S. The odds of a guilty person being freed in such cases are likewise negligible.

Perspective people!!

The very worst that could happen is a hung jury and IMO that would only happen if a juror is mentally ill or intellectually disabled.

Wouldn't the store still have a record of a knife purchase? Like our trusty Wal-Mart?

Which store? On which day? In what state? What city?

From everything we've seen of her, she not only has the memories of her slaughter/butcher/torture murder of Travis, she savors and revels in them.

I think she gets satisfaction from it because she hates him. That's why she always has to sneak a peak.

I think she spent a lot more time at Travis' than she planned.

BBM: I did a search to see if this story is being covered by any other media -- for accuracy as well as to get more info -- but my search came up with nothing but this story from ABC.

JMO ... but I would like to know IF -- IF this is true ...

:moo:

Its not only true I saw his mugshot on another site. Not sure if I'm allowed to post the link here.

Earlier I thought it could have been Travis's straight razor because it would alot of force to cut the throat so cleanly and deep.

I have the autopsy report open right now. The ME describes the size of the stab wounds on the torso as being 0.75 to 1.5 inches. The deepest cut was to the vena cava, which was approximately 3.5 inches deep. He also uses the language "all wounds display blunt and sharply incised ends." Anyone know what he means by that?

Hi Gitana! I have a question, I'd head over to the legal thread but since you're here, I have a question that you might be able to help me with. JM can refer to all of the evidence in his closing argument right? Can he also show it to the juror again? Could he, if he wanted to, replay a clip from one of the videos of Jodi that we've seen?

No, but I will go to the Maricopa Website and see if there is anything listed as being filed today.

It does look like something was filed today. But Idk what it pertains too or who filed.

K

Does anyone know about Nurmi filing something with the court today?

What does the ME: mean in today's filing?

Just because the date shows as today doesn't mean it was filed today. I asked about this on the Legal thread and AZlawyer said this:

AZlawyer said:
"ME" means minute entry, which is just a document explaining what happened that day. I looked up the minute entry for Thursday's trial proceedings, and it is stamped filed 4/22/13 at 8:00 a.m. (apparently these file stamps are not too exact lol).

As to Juror #8, it's not difficult to search the Phoenix-area mugshots for April 20 (Saturday) DUI arrests and then match the pic to his description -- except that I've never seen the man and wouldn't want to get it wrong.

So I'm sitting here going through a few pages of them without knowing the visage I'm trying to match.

Oh interesting! Maybe they were trying to get the judge to enter a judgment of acquittal on the felony murder charge?

Which would explain one or two single small cuts on Ms. Arias hands versus some major damage to her fingers which might have happened given there were numerous stabs of force based on reported depth.

Im of the impression the knife belonged to mm~~only because she told Dec flores that the ones in the car belonged to him and she was returning them. Jmo

I did not say Travis was holding his head up, I noted whatever was causing his head and shoulders to be upright would have been IMPOSSIBLE if his neck had already been slashed. The ME said this yesterday, only Wilmott was not clever enough to use it in relation to his photo. If you've ever seen even the smallest of wounds that hit a vessel you would understand why even the ME yesterday could not say this was where Travis' throat was slit, any of his stab wounds could have caused that amount of bleeding.

You have to ask yourself why did Jodi want Travis back in the bathroom and why did she attempt to clean up blood and why did she take pictures using Travis' camera? The only answer could be is that it was her initial intention to have no evidence of a crime left behind at all. And that would mean no body either. She did not clean up the blood in the bathroom so the towels must have been used to try and clean the blood in the hallway. Why are you trying to clean up blood if you're going to leave a body in the shower that was stabbed 29 times? Makes no sense, unless her original plan was not to leave a body. She realized this was not going to work so she deleted those specific photos, threw everything in the washing machine and left.

Its an interesting theory. If she was planning on dismembering him, how do you suppose she would have removed the body parts? Put them in a bag and make multiple trips to the car?

I dont think she could carry all the parts in 1 trip.

Good Morning All!

I'm sure someone posted this long ago, but this Facebook page has all the days on the trial in the right order, so you don't have to search You Tube. I'm going back from the beginning. It's interesting to see how Jodi has changed her behavior from the beginning to the end of the trial. And I'm finding little things I didn't think were important suddenly are important after all the testimony. Here's the link..

Thanks, I have always had questions regarding the clean-up. What do you think about the clothes in the washer - I'm assuming one pair was worn by Travis, the towel got bloody she used to clean up with it...but what about the other pair of clothes (shirt and pants) and all the socks? Why would she go to the trouble of adding those to the washer?
I think she had a big tote-like purse that she brought to Travis' house and put her extra pair of clothes in it, shoes, along with the plastic bag.
I am having trouble with the shoeprint that was found in teh bathroom...what was that about?

Wow, everybody, thanks for your input. Bringing along a change of clothes in a large tote bag would add to the premeditation because she knew she was going to be covered in blood and needed to get out of Dodge in clean clothes and looking fresh. She probably added the other clothes to the wash to make it look like a normal wash and not a crime scene clean-up.

Could she actually have taken a shower where Travis's sliced up body was? I wouldn't put anything past such an evil person!

If you believe she did not plan then why didn't she try to contact Ryan when she's in Travis' house, she had plenty of time to do that and she could email or IM him if she can not "call" him. I think she told Ryan that she would be in Utah on June 4 intentionally as her cover up coz she knew she could use "getting lost" as her excuse of being late.
