Folks this is huge. Not so much for the jury but for the murder one charge. The way that Travis was killed allowed Juan to bring in the murder one and DP in. Juan's theory of the events supports cruel manner of death. He needs to shoot down the gunshot first theory to hold up the murder one charge on appeal.

If the judge told them they will finish TODAY then why didn't she give them a time limit???? 3 hours for the DT and 3 hours for the State. It makes NO sense to let this go on and on and on and then leave Juan with a paltry hour or so. That is BIAS!

I want to throw up that a psychologist has been allowed to challenge a medical examiner.

The only question Juan needs to ask is "And how many autopsies have you preformed?"

"No apparent injury to the brain" -- all that means is that Horn couldn't see the damage because of decomposition.

"Dura mater membrane was intact" -- could mean that the dura mater was not decomposed

ETA: Willmott should have addressed these issues on cross exam of Horn

Dr. Horn said there was no hemorrhaging in the brain (because he was already dead and there was no more blood flow). Big difference between that and no damage.

It was a hollow point bullet, so it would cause more damage. Am I correct?

not in this instance because it was not in the body long enough to do the type of excess damage a hollow point bullet does.

the hollow point bullet does more damage by expanding once inside. this got lodged rather quickly.

Okay, let's pretend for a moment Jodi didn't do irreparable harm with the gunshot. What about the other 2 ways she murdered Travis?

  • #870
Doc just displayed his lack of knowledge of brain injuries -- he doesn't know about shock to the brain from a bullet or projectile

ETA: Also, the bullet didn't "come back out"

He also did not read the part of the report that talked about the hallow point bullet.

....okay....Dr. whoever....let's say someone was stabbed over and over and over and then shot...would that count in what you have said...

  • #872
No evidence indeed. Guess this witness missed the part about Travis' brain being so decomposed determining the exact pathway of the bullet was made impossible.

  • #873
The only reason I believe his earlier statement that he has not seen any trial testimony is because he would not be making all these statements knowing what Juan is going to do him.

  • #874
Who is the judge's boss? This is outrageous.

  • #875
I know more than the diplomate about head injuries just from watching House.

Shame on these experts.

  • #876
Okay Dr. G and Dr. H are saying two different things. Which is correct? I don't know.

  • #877
He keeps saying 'when the bullet comes back out the other side'... his opinions seems to be based on a bullet going right thru - not staying within the skull.
Muppet.

he's going to have his own brain injury when JM gets done with him. he should never have been allowed to even talk about this subject. he's not qualified.
