For an indigent defendant, Cooper is getting a very capable defense team, led by Howard Kurtz. Personally, I don't care for him, but he is nevertheless a very good defense attorney. A lot of bang for the buck, considering he is court appointed.

Same as someone else we know will be getting, hey?

Anyone know anything about this?

From the comment section on WRAL. Hope this is OK to post.

"I heard that the defense attorney asked to see the officer's notes, something about his investigation notes not matching the testimony given on the stand. The judge is supposed to "decide" or rule on that in the morning. I'm betting the judge doesn't allow it. That's my gut feeling. Guts count in this trial, you know."

How funny! 19,941 GOLO members and the one that I find quoted on here is a friend of mine. :) I just emailed her and told her that she is famous.

I hired him about a year ago (despite the fact that he was representing BC...grr!) and told him how involved I'd gotten in following this case. He was really interested in how I got my information, and sincerely seemed to believe in the innocence of his client.

I'm betting that he joined WS as soon as you left the office. LOL All these internet forums have to be pretty informative. Once upon a time, you had to hire specialists to sit in the courtroom and tell you their honest opinions. Now you can spend a few hours surfing the net and hear from all kinds of people at no cost.

I agree. I bet they look at this forum every night to see what the comments are (and if they don't, they should).

I'm not familiar with the lead prosecutor, but she doesn't come off as being very confident in her role. Of course it's a difficult job, but she doesn't seem like she is 100% comfortable.

Howdy Jilly:seeya:

Yep, our old pal Jason has 2 of the very best attorneys our tax money can buy.
With the trial a mere 2 months away, odd we haven't heard nary a peep from them.

Actually BR, Howard Cummings is running the show.
She was a defense attorney since 1998 before joining the white hats in 2007.

I need to stop reading GOLO, those people are a little nuts.
They are saying there is no evidence, there is and it is all coming out. It may be a lot of circumstantial, but it's still evidence. There are a lot of people assuming he is guilty and just as many saying he is innocent. The trial just started, people need to stop getting worked up on either side.. just wait and listen to what is coming out.. It's frustrating to read.. coming here at least we are all listening to what is coming out at trial and taking our time discussing the possibilities!
:maddening:

Just watched the K9 testimony in its entirety. It was completely neutralized by a short but effective cross-examine. I'm surprised but that's how a good defense should be. This time I think the prosecution screwed up. The cross was so devastating they should have raised the issue in direct. After watching the cross I thought the direct was misleading by omitting the most key fact.

What was brought up in the cross? I had to take a call during the testimony.

I hate GOLO. It is, indeed, maddening. It is a place where the insane go to flame. Thank God SG rescued me and brought me here!!!

GOLO is a good cross section of the area....kinda like the jurors.
If you took a straw poll over there, betcha Cooper walks (at least based on testimony to date)

I know, right...we should all be able to try, convict and execute our neighbors because we don't like them.

Like it or not those GOLO people are all too familiar with the culture of this area and that group. Not everyone here is discussing possibilities...they have already found him guilty and have no interest in real evidence. It is a sad representation of the human condition.

I wouldn't say that the testimony was neutralized. I would say diminished. I do think that this was the best cross for the defense yet. FINALLY they didn't score any points for "the other side". He has finally learned that K.I.S.S. principle.

It seemed like more people on there think he is not guilty actually!
I need to just stay away from there, but I really like to know what others think- My husband can only take so much of me chatting about this case, plus he isn't following it so I have to tell him everything to even discuss it with him hahaa

I find opposing viewpoints refreshing in a sense. It makes me relook at some things that I might have taken for granted. I saw an article from one of the area news sources (triangle something?) that indicated that Brad was asked what Nancy was wearing when he answered about the sports bra. If true, that sheds a whole different light on what we were told today. If not, it just makes it EVEN WORSE that we can't hear it with our own hears. I prefer truth to speculation.

Oh, I tell my husband everything but we don't discuss it. He just nods politely.

But... even with less than a casual interest a guy might notice what his wife was wearing on most excercise activities.

IIRC BC said that he did not SEE NC leave that AM. He said he was in his office and heard NC say she needed a t-shirt, then say "never mind" and shortly afterward heard the door shut. OK, the normal assumption here is she found a shirt, then left.... what gets him in a bit of a quandry here is he said "She usually wears a sports bra", but CC testified that she did not ever run in this.... still some wiggle room. He could say that she wore the bra under the shirt, but CC would only see the shirt.

Hi - Jumpstreet is back... Nice to see some familiar names still following this case. I've been busy for a little while... has anything of interest happened since the indictment? :)

my husband is at least interested. We both lived in Cary (now in Garner) for 10 years and we pass that neighborhood frequently heading up to ten ten.
Some of these facts are amazing (not in a good way) so he finds that interesting. He also knows everything about the Casey Anthony case because I am more obsessed with that one that was happening when I was on maternity leave so I watched that nonstop for months.
