I find this series of questions regarding obtaining Puk Code somewhat silly.
Who was that person you talked to..what was his title, what was his expertise, then what did he tell you..

Then when he tried to follow sequence..which is what he was told, enter Password/Pins and follow prompts until PUK Code sequence is requested?..Dont think ya have to write that down..do ya?? Kurtz's voice is just so over the top with incredulousness..that he would not record that :floorlaugh:

My thought was and at this point remains..that Brad who was in possession of this BB Pearl, sabotaged it so that wiping would ocur..maybe after he got whatever he wanted off of it or because he couldnt open it up himself due to Nancy's security features...LOL

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or serious, but I think the questions are very relevant. He data wiped a piece of evidence. I think that's pretty important.

I don't find the questions and expectations that he would document all of these things during a murder invetigation.

Is Det. Young the 'expert' we've been waiting for on the cell call details???????

LOL..Yes, when I put out the garbage, or doing garden work..I dont wear it..however what I am referring to is what her friends are saying about Nancy's usual wearing of her jewellry..And I would have to say, any friend of mine would assume I wore it 100% of the time..as they saw it 100% of the time when they were with me....... THAT was my point:rocker:

Would you wear it to go jogging?

Okay, now this I just heard. "He didn't document the person's *name*." I ALWAYS take names, ALWAYS. I even ask for correct spelling of said name, when I'm trying to fix or get info on anything and everything.

Yes, that is odd. He documents almost everything, but wouldn't document who provided him instructions and a code to get into the phone?

The NC Legislature needs to pass legislation allowing attorneys to approach witnesses without having to ask permission from Hizzoner every time.

No, but he was the one the wiped the phone.

Silly? Potential evidence was destroyed. How is that silly?

He was unlocking phones and getting codes from phone company. jmo

I find it odd as well. This cell phone stuff may not have seemed to be important to him at that moment (I doubt it though) but it's still odd that he documented everything else pretty much to a T.
Kurtz is going back again to the fact that he didn't get the name of the person with ATT who gave him the instructions and code.

He *is* worried about the shoes--and he's making declarative statements already again this morning.

Also if they are gonna put the defendant on the stand (!!) and want to ask him "Did you kill your wife?" -- and have the defendant answer, "No I did not," the Def. Atty cannot previously have been told that the defendant DID kill his wife -- that would be subornation of perjury which is a very serious offense.

I hope there will still be a SBI cell phone expert called. Don't know now though.

I think there will be, but he might of jeopardized the case. jmo

I'm still doubtful there was any potential evidence even on the phone, especially since it had been in Brad's possession.

Although Det. JY did enter all data onto the warrant he needed in order to obtain PUK code from AT&T...JY obviously had to seek to whomever was working in that department of AT&T..and I am sure IF this person had significant information regarding the case (other than giving the puk code to JY) then I am sure his name, phone number, address, time, and every word he had said would have been documented in either audio recording or in writing, then a signature to varify this documentation by the AT&T person.. HUMMM really isnt significant information in the whole scheme of things...In fact I would venture to guess, this is not the first time LE has had to gain such information from a telecom company..Doubt names, and credentialling of rep. would be necessary to document..Course thats just my thoughts on it!

Bottomline...Phone got wiped of specific date...unless forensics was able to retrieve...but call logs were available thru the carrier of the service provider.

What is so bad about this is that the defense attorneys sent a letter asking that this piece of evidence be handled with complete care. Yet it is the one item where the data was destroyed. Young admitted seeing the letter from the defense. This looks really bad, even if it was completely innocent.

I don't think anything sinister was going on here, but it was a major screw up, you can't candy coat it. The fact that he didn't write anything down makes it worse than I thought.

The phone was locked. I don't believe BC would have known the password to that phone.

Of course, we don't know any potential evidence because it was wiped. The evidence could have included text messages, contacts, etc.

This is just incredible. How could two CPD cops working on this case screw up so badly with the phones? To not even document this, not even write down the name of the AT&T representative who walked him through the steps to unlock the phone and to be so matter of fact about it is astounding. He doesn't even seem to care. "I had no idea if there was evidence on there."
