Well, I can't wait to see the next witness.

Interesting testimony I missed.

I think we can all agree, though, if the pros had been able to establish the witness still had a Myspace page, the jury should have been instructed to disregard him completely.

That's hilarious!!

I'll admit I think the state's cross of him, absolutely nothing other than his resume and FB account, was rather lame. Even though I agree that in his line of work, protecting his own security settings on FB should have been a thought of his every now and then.

I think the point of the cross was to completely diminish him as an expert and therefore diminish his testimony. BZ didn't ask any questions regarding potential misinformation given during direct. That would have kept JW at the status of an expert if BZ had questioned him about that sort of stuff. I think the prosecution team will refute a lot of his testimony with one or more rebuttal witnesses.

Speaking of which, I know this is probably a state by state thing but why are witnesses allowed to sit in court and hear the testimony of the other witnesses? It seems that that would give them an opportunity to frame their responses in a particular way knowing what the other person has already said.

Pros. witnesses usually aren't paid and looking to boost their business on TV in the U.S. & Canada. Nope, sonny boy, here - who has an intolerance for mental deficiencies and likes to get in the down and dirty with conspiracy theories - was looking to build an expert name for himself and rake in some serious cash in the future.

He wasn't paid. And you are simply guessing as to his motive. You don't know him.

What's wrong with reading about conspiracy theories?

Agreed, that is really touching on 1st Amendment rights. BTW, I loved Conspiracy Theory with Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts. Now that was a conspiracist.

It's easy to do...but he also said he didn't get on facebook much. And his expertise isn't in facebook privacy settings. Now if the facebook company needed help on securing their network, I'm sure he could have done that with ease.

Yes, he did say he didn't get on fb much, yet he shut down his fb because he was getting so many friend request. So, that sounds like an active fb page. JMO

I was not impressed with Mr. Ward yesterday or today. One thing I do wish is that he had not named any of his friends past or present employed at Cisco. Their names are now part of the court record through no fault of their own. Mr. Ward was certainly not professional in having done this, IMO.

I just hope it hasn't harmed them in any way.

Maybe they were pictures of him at the beach, we don't know.

Nope, I got a quick peek and there was no beautiful ocean or seagulls in the background.....

Just as aside, Wasnt it Kurtz who questioned Det. McDreamy extensively about Nancy's facebook page and why he didnt go further into that page to ascertain if there was any activities or whatevers??..Facebook for some reason certainly has been used by both side to indicate something to the jury....Nancy's indicated no use, 2 friends and no activity when viewed..Mr Wards FB acct should alittle more incite into his mindset and communications..and for the pros. to bring it..it only showed he had certain mindsets, and that he did not secure his own acct...ohh BTW he is a "Expert Security Internet " person testifying about a defendents computer hackings or modifications..and unable to indicate who did so. I will admit, he did admit, it could have been updates that altered timestamps..but enphasized possible hacking...

JWard did what he could for Brad, however doubt it will be effective..again..It will be u to the jurors on credibilities..and they will be advised on how to form that opinion of witnesses as credible or not credible..

JW wasn't paid - didn't you catch that?

Yes, I caught the word he used and I think that's wrong - but its no indication of intolerance. If you look deep enough you can find something to dislike about anyone.

You seem very sure of his intentions and motivation though.

Wow, Zellinger is looking like an idiot here. I'm losing respect for this guy. None of us can keep up with the everchanging settings for facebook. I only know when people post it to their status.

He got quite snappy in his tone also. LOL It was like he was breaking the case, this was going to totally discredit everything!

I would call what the pros and judge just did the the witness c l a s s less. I am ashamed to
live in Cary and I will never feel the same as I did before this trial.....I always felt safe living here
but not anymore. I always regarded the justice system fair but not anymore. Shame, shame, shame is what I feel out of this debacle. It's not about who is guilty or not guilty but a biased judge being able to rule over this case from the beginning. Everyone wants to know the
truth but has no tolerance to let the evidence be shown fairly.....My heart goes out to Mr. & Mrs. Rentz and Mr. and Mrs. Cooper.

He is right about that. I just checked and saw that my cell phone number was listed under my info. I certainly didn't put that there.

I had a page for about a month and it kept doing things like that to me also so I deleted the page.

I know yesterday he was asked for the name of the guy at Cisco. So he had no choice but to give them their name.

Yes, I'm speculating. I don't know him. But I suspect he used this as a building block for future income.

One area I do question is the use of a version of back whatever it was, a version that is updated from what was available in 2008. Having trouble being convinced of a couple of things - one- if it was so great in 2008 why the update, and two - the only "proof" offered for it being the same was this guy's word - not one single piece of documentation. I'm pretty much thinking I would like to know a few things since the defense is trying to show the jury something done on software that did not exist at the time the supposed events occurred. I live in the "Show Me" state though...
