It seems like a bit of a stretch that a loose screw on a license plate means the plate was removed.
I remember reading that discussion way back when. (I have been mostly a lurker...). Was it that the plate was not properly screwed in? Was one side of the plate loose? I can't remember.

Oh my. Wouldn't one take a look at the room in which he was sleeping to ascertain if that was a hobby of his? And the photos make the house look like a cluttered disaster.
I agree. Of course, I laughed when I read that the loose screw and that there was a screw gun in the garage. Heck, you don't need a screw gun to remove it, a quarter works quite well (that's how I've changed out my plates and also removed my now illegal in North Carolina license plate brackets).
