I'm very surprised (given BC's techie background and liberal use of web tools) that he didn't utilize online banking to set up payments for monthly bills. I've been using online banking since the 90's. It's easy peasy, convenient, and you don't get caught making late payments.

In the opening, the prosecution tells the jury that they will hear Brad's taped deposition from the custody hearing, and they will "see the string of inconsistencies" in his statement. I assume they have to play it all at once in order for things to be taken in context, etc... After watching the whole thing twice (did I just admit that??), it has pluses and minuses for both sides, IMO.

Need help understanding the reason for the objection to possible reason for BC's parents or brother possibly not being at the trial at any given time. Seemed the judge was really irritated.

Wow. Really irritated with Kurtz is an understatement.
I agree, it should not be pointed out to the jury whether or not particular family member are present in the courtroom.

After finally watching part 3 of Kurtz's opening (painful), I see he is very worried about the evidence found on Brad's computer. Sounds like he will try to say CPD or a neighbor cracked his network and framed him. Perhaps the computer forensics will be the smoking gun we are waiting for?

It's interesting to go back and listen to it again to see how what he claims matches up with testimony. I know we already talked about his claim that they didn't collect shoes but testimony says they did collect shoes. When I just listened to part of Part III defense says that you will hear from Dr. Butts and he will tell you that the amount of caffeine in Nancy's system could not be accounted for by having coffee the day before. Dr. Butts said just the opposite of that. The testimony from the computer experts should be interesting. I'm already finding some of the claims by Kurtz to be beyond belief even without any testimony.

He might have had it set up, but paid each amount as it came in (or not) because the amounts vary each month. Now THAT would be the height of laziness!

Remember the diamond necklace that she wore all the time. Brad admitted that it was in his desk drawer, right? (It's been so long since I read everything).

I wonder if it had been on Nancy during her death. How would he have gotten it off her with his big, bungling fingers? Was he familiar w/ removing little necklaces? I wonder if the necklace had been cleaned by him, or if it could have been on her at strangulation and been embedded in her skin, therefore having skin cells, body oils, etc.

Surely they checked it for that. I wonder if any link was broken? Was she reported to have worn the diamond pendant necklace to the party the night before? Like I said, I cannot remember.

Wonder where that missing diamond stud earring is hiding these days?

Green vegetable matter in his car...could be from vomit from Nancy, anywhere from avocado salad to whatever else she ate. Could've been something he stepped in while cleaning up.

I'm just saying there is so much more to hear about. Remember all the bags of evidence they brought out of the house. I'm not ready to throw in the towel on the prosecution's being "slow" etc.

Lengthy call? 38 seconds is a lengthy call? You have got to be kidding. You act like these 2 had absolutely no interaction at all. How do you explain the plans to have the Hillers over on the night of the 12th if BC and NC didn't have some level of interaction beyond hate comments.

I think so too! I keep posting about how I want to know what he read at 1030pm that night before she got home! I think this will be very telling.

I think it will be interesting but would still only go to possible motive and not actually evidence of a murder being committed in the house.

ETA: It will go to show his lies though since he claims he fell asleep shortly after nine and didn't wake up until Nancy came in after midnight.

IF Brad did do this, I think that him admitting he was awake when Nancy came home and the 4:00 time he states he was awake are true and important. I think they did get in a fight when she came home...anger had been seen that night by others. The 10:30 email might just be what pushed him over the edge. The 4:00 time is when I think he dumped her body, so he stated he was up in case someone saw lights in the house. Followed by the two visits to HT to create an alibi. JMO

I agree about your theory about 4am and his explanation of why the lights could be on, but I think he cleaned out the garage and got the car in there, got her body in there and then paced around figuring out where to dump her. I think he went to HT after he dumped the body due to his routing from Holly Springs to HT, and brought home milk (620am), then realized he needed a better alibi and somehow show she was alive so he set up the call somehow from his landline to his cell and then bolted back to HT and there it is.

I think he got her in the car and came back inside so she was hidden and then had to figure out what to do with her and then quickly came up with the scenerio as to "why he had to leave so early in the morning".. my guess is that he even dumped the milk they already had in the fridge in case that was questioned later. My theory at this point because I am trying to be Nancy Drew.

But I have a hard time believing that it was truly "war of the roses". I believe they shared civil discourse such as making plans to go to friends. If they were truly enemies, they wouldn't be doing ANYTHING together.

No I don't think they talked about the evening plans. But they talked for 38 seconds. I'm just dumbfounded that you think 38 seconds is a lengthy call.

I for one believe things were not as bad in that household as has been made out to be. Yes they fought. Yes they were going through separation. But I have a hard time believing that it was truly "war of the roses". I believe they shared civil discourse such as making plans to go to friends. If they were truly enemies, they wouldn't be doing ANYTHING together.

Sometimes people who are not getting along have longer conversations because everything is a possible trigger for a fight.
