I thought there was testimony that he asked someone to call both them and his parents. Isn't how they found out?

If so, I missed that, but admittedly I've only been half listening half the time, and not listening the rest of the time. I don't understand why he wouldn't call all parents himself and update them on progress.

If I were her parents in that situation, the fact that he didn't call, at least by the second day of her disappearance, would put me on serious guard. I would guess their major priority was to get to NC, especially since they hadn't heard from Brad.

If I were her parents I would be very skeptical of Brad at that point. How sad - your daughter is missing and no contact from the son-in-law. Red flag? I think so!

I'm not remembering any testimony in the current trial about his asking somebody to call them. This afternoon the mom's testimony was that they were attending a funeral in Canada when they received a phone call from Krista notifying them that Nancy was missing. Now it could be that Brad called her and asked her to notify the parents? Even as late as Monday after they arrived in NC they still had not heard from Brad. Don't know if this is the info you were asking about or not but this is what was said today in court.

I am absolutely not sticking up for Brad's behavior. That wasn't what I was saying. And I do believe everything happened as she saw it. But I still believe Nance exaggerated things, at least about the money. It doesn't change that she was upset about not being able to get a pedicure for her and the girls on the 12th. Someone that doesn't have a penny to their name would not be trying to get pedicures if she got a few bucks for painting.

I think Nancy exaggerated a little. I was also under the impression, until today, that the money was cut off after the separation agreement was in the works, but that is not the case. Nancy was cut off financially, and then she initiated the separation. Diana Duncan's sworn statement says Nancy received $80/week, in court we have heard it as $300. I'm inclined to set aside my view that Nancy liked to live beyond her means, and that she was not yet facing the fact that she would have a major change in economic status ... Brad was pushing Nancy into a corner in every way possible before she was murdered. The only tool she had was to gather support from friends, and make the odd remark that would anger him.

Seriously, what does it matter if Nancy exaggerated some things during her life? She didn't exaggerate her murder. She certainly didn't exaggerate when she described them as 'back in hate mode.' Obviously things were not right in that relationship and obviously things were very tense.

Because her words about BC are being used in his trial. That is why it makes a difference if she exaggerated things. She lost her life. He's on trial for his. If he did it, I hope he spends the rest of his life in jail. If he didn't do it, I would hate for an innocent man to be convicted because his wife like to rant about him to everyone she met. That's why.

There was testimony from one of the friends (I forget by who) that Brad asked Clea M. to call Nancy's parents. Clea also was taking care of the Cooper children that day 7/12/08. And, according to Mrs. Rentz testimony, Clea did, in fact, call (Krista), who then called her parents.

It was one of NCs friends. I don't remember which one though.

What part of her words and exaggerations lead you to think he is being unfairly accused of murder?

She said (the night before) they were 'back in hate mode.' She said he had refused to give her money that day. Brad does not refute this in his deposition. J.A. testified that she personally saw the tension between Brad & Nancy the Tues before she was murdered. There's a witness who saw Brad screaming @ Nancy in the parking lot of Triangle Academy. How many instances need to be corroborated? And there is other evidence, that has nothing to do with what Nancy told anyone. It is that evidence which certainly landed Brad in jail.

He admitted the affair on 12/31/07. Nancy was missing nearly 6 months later. He couldn't deal with his 'shame' to let them know this important information? Is his name "Mr Lubner" (born with no spine...cf SNL 1970s).

Wouldn't it seem like common sense that Nancy's parents would want to hear directly from Brad so they could get details firsthand?

I'm really interested because as sad as it was today seeing her mom on the stand, I still don't see anything concrete and I'm wondering what they used to convince a grand jury.

Clea phoned Krista, and she phoned her parents. They learned the news while attending a funeral in Edmonton.

I don't know that that would ever go away. If I had an affair and the in-laws found out, I would have a very tough time facing them. Yes, even 6 months later.

But regardless, I did say that he should have put that aside and contacted them, most definitely.
