One of the calls made by Brad in the early morning of 7/12 (around 6:30am) pinged off the tower closest to the location of Nancy's body...within a mile it looks like. Kurtz was trying to get the AT&T guy to say that the actual tower was located somewhere else, but the AT&T guy could not testify to that.

This is BIG, imho. It physically puts Brad very much south of his home, south of HT...south of anywhere he claimed to be that early morning. It put him closer to the body location than either his own house or HT!

I don't think they can rely on the cell tower data too much. The AT&T guy basically admitted that location isn't the only factor that determines what tower you use, only more likely. This was demonstrated by showing all the towers Nancy hit on July 11th.

I'm confused by some of these calls.

The 6:45 and 6:47 calls to the (980) number which I think he indicated was the voicemail number?

Also the incoming txt msg at 6:46

Didn't he say he didn't know how to access the voicemail on his cell? Or was that just the call log he said he couldn't find?

I wonder if some of the "data calls" are him sending email.

My prediction - that's all you're going to hear about the phones. I could be wrong. Everyone kept waiting for all the forensic evidence but there never was any. I find it so odd that they put all those objects into evidence, even though they weren't evidence of anything. Such an odd case.

Yep, you are wrong.
The ADA already told us they have experts that will testify.
BTW, this At&T guy was put on to set foundation only and was out of order.

I agree, I think this was to enter the call records and basic explanations of terms and things. I am hoping the experts will delve into more details and answer some questions about what some of these calls really were.

May I ask what you are referring to..The feed from the trial cut off some time ago????????

I had just gotten here @ noon, and I was reading about the JA/ email/phone call/Judge Gessner thing on page 1 or 2, and saw the great remark below by nadjatheresa, and was answering her, but my response was about 3 1/2 hours later that she had posted it. But I just had to add my :twocents:

What happened to the 6:34 missed call from home?

The 6:45 and 6:47 are to his cell voicemail, correct? Do we know what time he checked out of HT? IIRC, he pulled into the HT at 6:41AM. Just curious if he's placing these calls while in HT or if they are on the drive home.

I thought the 6:34 call from home to cell was when he located his phone.

Do you think his buddies give Det. Hottie McDreamy a good razzing around the office for making the websleuthers swoon? :floorlaugh:

The call log shown in court only showed 6:37AM as the first call made.

Were the calls included only ones that showed a call duration? The missed call showed 0 seconds call duration on the cell phone.

JY testified yesterday that the 6:34 from home was missed call, 0 seconds, 6:37 outbound to cisco # for 30 seconds, and 6:40 incoming from home for 25 seconds. These are what they saw in the call history of the phone.

I know my cell phone billing wouldn't included incoming missed calls. I guess at some point (hopefully soon) we'll see the TWC records.

6:05 854-1511 called 1196 23 secs
6:34 1511 called 1196 0 sec
6:37 1196 calls 476-2001 29 sec
6:40 1511 calls 1196 32 sec
6:45 1196 to voicemail for 63 sec
6:46 txt to 1196
6:47 1196 to voicemail

Thanks!

I can understand a missed call to locate your cellphone, but the 23 second call at 6:05 has me intrigued.

Confusing why the 6:05AM call was not on bill?
This guy's testimony was very fast and very confusing.
Thankfully, it was just a technical necessity for foundation so they can now present the real evidence...hopefully concisely so the jurors get it .

And why JY didn't see it in the call history unless he would've had to scroll to see it (I have no idea how the screen looks on the blackjack when you pull up call history). I can see the VM calls not showing if it just has a voicemail icon on the phone. My VM checks don't show on my current phone.
