The prosecutor suggested he violated protocol ... then the prosecutor started talking about a court order ... then it turned out the witness was late in returning a cell phone.

The prosecutor is trying to put words in his mouth ... as usual.
Ummm.
Prosecution "Did you violate a court order?"
Witness "Yes, I did".

This is the most entertaining testimony I've ever seen in my life!

I'd be offended if he LIKED Cary residents. :floorlaugh:

I don't like the idea of "safely" storing the phone in a drawer at his apt. Why not go to a safe deposit box if not the CPD? Sounds a bit odd.

Has *anything* of value come from this witness? The acrimony is getting in the way of the testimony.

Oh man ... as though it matters that the phone was returned a couple of days late. What a stupid point to get hung up on.

B-Did you talk to Detective Young about future cases?
L-Yes, I told him to try real hard to not erase any more evidence. ;)

(JK- for those of you not watching testimony!)

"I made a decision it wasn't a big deal."

It's in the courthouse in downtown Raleigh. Jurors will be from anywhere in Wake County. Could be someone on there from Cary. Most of us Cary people are used to being insulted since it's always ranked well in any given list regarding crime, education, property values, etc. It's pretty amusing. I'm not worried about my property values getting any lower due to Nancy's murder in our town. We know who did it....... wink, wink.

Wait just a gol durn minute here, what about those roaming bands of Hawaiian, Hispanic, Mormons, riding around in vans, nabbing female joggers right off the streets! :) We live in Johnston Co., I won't even begin to voice the stereotype about 'us'uns'. :great:

This is embarrassing for the pros., imo.

The prosecutor looks like a goof!

He keeps looking at the jurors with those strange expressions,,,,,like he's fed up. I think the judge should caution him about that.

I think it shows this witness has little or no respect for law enforcement or the court system. He has a HUGE ego and doesn't like anybody questioning the integrity or quality of his work.

Seems like at the time, giving Det Young his business card, that he was hoping to be used by them in the future. Guess that's not going to happen, EVER.

It might be considered valuable to the next defense witness wanting to employ him. On record about the court order violation thingy.

Just trying to show he's law-enforcement friendly, in a very long roundabout way.

Witness on re-direct just now explaining how he helped a NC PD locate a missing girl a few weeks ago, and how that PD correctly incorporated the missing persons cell phone and records to accomplish this.

Compare this to the CPD using NC cellphone when she went missing...wait...oh that's right they didn't...
