Cammy,

Actually the correct mileage is 170 x 2 + 120 = 460 miles NOT 510 (that's the mileage to KING, NC to match witness statement)

460 Miles @ 19 EPA EST MPG HWY = 24.2 gallons of gas need. JY's SUV held 22.5 gallons

EPA Link: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/noframes/20416.shtml

Thank you, Shadow.:)
I was including the mileage from Birchleaf to Hillsville, and then Hillsville to Birchleaf and then Birchleaf back to Hillsville when talking about all the things that could have happened.
Besides the obvious one of running out of gas.

Makes me want a cigar.

yuk......

Hey, you know what they should do?

Give Jason a cigar and see if he coughs or chokes,
watch to see how he lights it, handles it, etc.

WOW Have you read today's posts or watched the testimony?

I probably would've fallen asleep anyway. I trust Mike Brooks. He knows his stuff and when he says today's testimony was a wash, I'll accept it. He's usually pro prosecution and I believe he was just as disappointed.

It saved me a full day of listening to gibberish and frustration.

I agree with everything you wrote, but letting the WDS info in has me worried.

JY is not the Lord of Transylvania County. He is the Lowlife of TC.

No, it's not a "Transylvania Thing." There are plenty of people here who had their butts worn out for inappropriate behavior.

Some of you are jumping to a lot of conclusions on this board. Just because JY was from Transylvania County does not mean that others here are like him.
It's rather insulting to the majority of the Godly, law-abiding people who live here.

FYI, most people here believe he is guilty and want to see him pay for his crimes.

I can only speak for myself, but I don't think anything about Transylvania County, other than the name itself reminds me of horror movies, Dracula, etc. I'm definitely not a horror movie watcher. I hate scary movies, horror flicks, but isn't that where Dracula is from, Transylvania?? Not Transylvania Co., but the European Country? My husband and kids watched a lot of scary movies. Everytime I hear about Transylvania Co., I think about scary stuff. :seeya:

Would have been awesome in 1st trial when JY took stand.

Could you imagine? Hey Mr. Young, could you please demonstrate for the jury exactly how you lit the cigar? Your honor, I'd like to introduce this cigar, this oscillating industrial warehouse fan, and these 2 matches into evidence to assist with Mr. Young's demonstration.

I've typically had the same opinion of Mike Brooks on past cases I've followed but not on this one. I've seen him, quite a few times so far, mis state evidence or testimony in this trial. It's like he is not watching and getting his "talking points" from someone else who is not watching.

I've gotten to where I can't even watch HLN or TTV at all for this trial. There is a lot of wrong testimony and evidence being discussed on a daily basis.

IMO

But he was by himself, at a side exit door of a hotel in the middle of nowhere at midnight.

Yep, traveler, you're actually right! Ten minutes later he was back on the road again, barreling back to Raleigh. With a freedom plan.
Yeeee-hahhh!:maddening:

Lyin' snake.

The day Mike B kept referring to MY's hair as unknown is the last time I watched. He was going on and on about MY having a stranger's hair in her hand. I don't get how they can continue to give totally incorrect info.

I wish that Northern speakers would stop using subjective pronouns in the place of objective pronouns because they think it makes them sound more intelligent.

Ex: John gave the gift to she and I a day early as a surprise. WRONG.

Ex: John gave the gift to her and me a day early as a surprise. CORRECT.

Everyone's always jumping on Southern slang, but just to be clear, there is Northern slang as well.

Of course there is. I'm from the midwest originally, and get ribbed on my accent a lot. Even after all these years, people who meet me know immediately 'you're not from around these parts.' :floorlaugh:

< going to get myself a drink from the bubbler now'. :seeya:

Watched some of the highlights of today's witnesses testimony on HLN with Mike Brooks. I was shocked to hear that today was a total wash. I expected the prosecution to save the best for last but wow....I'm so disappointed. However, I was a little relieved to hear that I'm not alone in thinking this prosecution is a mess and putting this jury to sleep. They have not laid out their case in a chronological manner for this jury. They're all over the place. Their witness presentation make no sense.

Fiona's testimony was a wash. She was chewing gum on the stand. :what: A total bore.

Spivey = getting the prosecution witness to reply yes or no by the defense's cross is always a victory for the defense.

The cigar testimony was a joke.

Very disappointing. If JY did murder Michelle, it will be a great injustice for her and her family. Sadly, this prosecution team is just not hitting the ball out of the ball park. They've had so many strikes that I wonder if the defense even has to put up a case at this point.

I predict another mistrial.

Although I hate to say this, I agree. The testimony regarding the twigs, bushes, cigars and newspapers would have no bearing on me if I were a juror. How exactly is this going to prove he murdered his wife?. He has already proven that he is a liar but this evidence would mean absolutely nothing to me. What difference would it make if he was smoking cigars or doing jumping jacks outside?. We can argue this till the cows come home but until I see proof of him leaving and returning, it is a gray area for me.

Just to make this clear, I do believe he killed his wife, but I so wish the PT was stronger. The only thing today's testimony did for me was want to go out and buy a cigar.:innocent:

Maybe Beth Karas is filling him in. If that's the case, the prosecution is in big trouble because of all TH's Beth has always been the most unbiased and fair commentator I've ever seen on television.

I agree. I too have heard Mike Brooks say many incorrect things when it comes to this case. I turn down the volume when I hear talking heads talk about the trial. I just listen to the direct testimony in the trial. The talking heads can say all they want..make their predictions. I'm not going to even attempt to make a prediction as to what the jury will decide. Obviously, no one can.

I'm looking forward to hearing what the jury decides, that's for sure.

Interesting note...the Schaads and Daltons live on the same street in Raleigh, within a couple blocks it appears. Wonder how those family get-togethers are, or if Jason has been invited to hang with his buddies since last summer.

I'm still reading and catching up, but I wanted to answer this in case someone else hasn't already.

The guy that I work with who knows JY and his friends has gone on some of the boys' annual golfing trips. We were talking about this case a couple of weeks ago, and he told me that Josh Dalton absolutely believes that JY murdered Michelle. Josh will not have anything at all to do with JY anymore.

It makes absolutely no difference. What makes it important, though (at least to me), is why did he have to lie about what he was doing if what he was doing was not incriminating? If he was not a cigar smoker (and so far there is no evidence that he was and after today- evidence that he likely wasn't) and fabricated being one as a reason for being outside - then why was he really outside? The truth of why he was outside couldn't be told so he had to make up a reason. Unfortunately for him, his reason for being outside at a time that he shouldn't have been is crumbling apart. So why is that?

We didn't see KC driving around with a dead body in her car either, but I know she did it. If I took the lies alone, or each piece of evidence alone, I would agree with you. It's the totality of the evidence that convinced me JY did it, just like the totality of the evidence in the Anthony case.

Have you heard anything about Ryan Schaad, what he thinks?

Thanks. I thought that he must think JY is guilty based on his inability to give an immediate answer to BH's question about advising JY to get an attorney. He looked very uncomfortable. The DT waited a second to see which way Josh was going before objecting. LOL

Completely different. IIRC, there was decomp found in the car.

So what we have ladies and gentlemen, is both a vile cad and a murderer.
