Then the prosecution should have showed that clip, or read out her prior testimony. They lost that opportunity, and the jury doesn't know a thing except what's presented here.

Cindy Beaver is the witness I have been waiting for.
I have her entire testimony written down from the last trial.

She did not change anything, except this time she was
not sure about the ring.

She did excellent, despite the attempts of HC to discredit her.

JMO, of course.

Ambrose is a defense witness? "Jason is a manipulator." Sounds like the guy had a concern of Jason's involvement in the murder and proactively sought investigators at least once, maybe twice. What was the defense's plan with this? Something tells me this guy will not be tailgating at Carter-Finley with Jason's friends or family.

I KIND of got the idea from this testimony and his almost reluctance to verify any prior statements he'd made................he MAY HAVE initially contacted LE because he suspects JY; but then JY got a hung jury, so now he may fear he's going to get off and he may not want to have to look over his shoulder for JY believing he betrayed him by talking to LE voluntarily, AGAINST JY.

I'm just amazed that JY would argue in front of friends and I guess family that he wasn't getting enough sex from Michelle! What a cruel and humiliating thing to do!

  • #704
I'm just stunned by all these friends and family, who NEVER talked to JY about Michelle's murder!

Are they saying they didn't care how the investigation was going?
OR...............
PERHAPS they SUSPECTED JY and knew the less they knew, the better for them?

Wow! These people definitely were NOT friends of MY's!

he MIGHT have asked him about it?

I'm shocked!

:(
BBM

I wouldn't ask anything about it unless my friend wanted to talk about it, only then I would inquire about the investigation and so on, but he/she would be the one to bring it up. Not me.

IMO

maybe he was afraid of what the answer would be.

Fran, in my experience this is very normal. It's the monster in the room. Imagine for one second, someone you know is capable of plotting, premeditating and carrying out the murder of someone they were suppose to love, honor and cherish, until death do you part. Self preservation sometimes is very humbling experience. You may want to say something, but many times people don't, because they are afraid of the answer and deep down they may know the answer to this question, but avoidance and denial for self-preservation is much greater.

Its a symptom of a cheating spouse - and also laying the groundwork for his excuse should he ever be caught.

maybe he was afraid of what the answer would be.
Possibly.

But for me it would be a matter of respect not to ask unless he/she opened the door, IMO.

  • #709
If you throw out both... does it show/prove JY wasn't involved in your eyes?

I don't think it really proves anything to throw out both witnesses...they're both eye witnesses and they basically cancel each other out. JMO

I agree. I thought they would have her read her initial testimony concerning the things she changed.

She didn't change anything.
She said what she saw then, and she said it again today.
I don't know how much more clearer or believable a witness
can get.
She drove past the home for 21 years.
She lives on the street.
She worked at her job for 28 years.
She told her boss, who was a former policeman , what she saw.
She would have came foward a day or 2 sooner, but LE
was looking for witnesse from 12 - 5 am.
When they changed it to 6 am, there she was.

ETA/ We don't even know if she thinks Jason is guilty or innocent, just because the defense called her.
The defense is focusing in on the time frame, that's all.

I totally agree. I have learned over the years do not ask the question if I really dont want to know the answer.

Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

So DT has called everyone from trial 1 except JY so who do you think is up next?

She changed the part about seeing the newspaper guy. I just listened to her first testimony.

Can she be recalled for this purpose by the PT? Or perhaps they can add the discrepancy in the closing?

HC should have had CB read her first testimony about the newspaper man and then show her the map. I agree he did a lousy job with that. Instead of proving what she said, he argued with her.

IMHO, JY knew about MY's experience in college. He SHOULD have had empathy for her feelings and know she may have needed to talk to a professional about this.

He SHOULD HAVE, IF he had loved MY, known this was a traumatic event in her life and NOT blamed her for not giving him enough SEX!

FWIW, my friend's daughter who ended up marrying a man who abused her to almost the point of killing her, ................ she was raped just PRIOR to hooking up with her abuser AND he was sympathetic to what happened to her. He was one of a VERY few who knew about what happened to her. He didn't become abusive until 8 months after they were married.

So to me, it shows how they can spot the weak, and use that to THEIR advantage! :(

MY was a strong woman and independent, EXCEPT she was vulnerable to certain types of predators. Unfortunately, someone recognized her ONE weakness and used it against her.

Poor Michelle.................

Well, quite frankly, this mock juror has tossed both Gracie and CB's testimony.

But I would still vote Guilty.

The Pros has gone over her previous testimony, if there was anything wrong, it would have been pointed out.

To me, Cindy Beaver is one of the most important witnesses, in this case.

I was so worried she might not hold up, she passed with flying colors.

So DT has called everyone from trial 1 except JY so who do you think is up next?

Aside from DB (JY friend), perhaps:

*PI for DT?
*Godwin
*DT computer forensics

(and maybe a day set aside for JY in the event he decides against counsel to testify again)
