otto, IIR, the vehicle was at the very end of the driveway as if it was going to pull onto the road. What I find the strangest, The postal worker testified at app. 5:30 there was two people in vehicle had two occupants, when MS. Hensley saw it app. 30 minutes later she said there was no one in the vehicle, still in same position.

That's my understanding too. Regarding whether a vehicle would have to back out the driveway, I don't believe that for a minute ... obvious Jason and Michelle didn't back out of their driveway, so there was room to turn around in front of the garage ... even with two cars.

I didn't realize that two people saw the same thing ... that's a point that needs to be emphasized by the defense. Is that the tire track that we have seen at the end of the driveway ... without explanation by the prosecution?

Within a couple of days of the murder it was in the news that several lights were on in the house, all lit up ... originallly reported by a newspaper delivery person.

HC cross of CB today will be the down fall of the state. He hammered her attempting to discredit her without success, just as she had testified was the case of the many who revisited her attempting to confuse her to what morning she actually seen the car. Anyone watching could see his desperate attempt to confuse her. Was not a good thing for the jury to wittiness. MOO
I think HC realized he went to far and knew he had blew it.. Knew he had made a mess of it..

I think HC underestimated CB and thought he could get her to change her testimony. Instead, she strengthened her position by saying two important things: !)LE(guy from SBI) treated me roughly on the last interview-----That is never good to hear with everything else the SBI has been through. 2) She indicated that in rethinking this carefully, she was certain this was the day of MY's death around 5:30AM. She was also able to explain away the other vehicle which she thought was the N &O carrier.

IMO it seriously makes it hard for JY to be in two places around same time. It gives reasonable doubt IMO. It may not clear him totally, but it certainly is a problem for PT, and HC knew very well that he had messed it up.

Wasn't the light colored vehicle reportedly backed up to the garage?

I haven't seen this link before: http://www.hlntv.com/article/2012/02/09/jason-young-murder-trial-suv-outside-home

otto, from your same link...

http://www.hlntv.com/article/2012/02/09/jason-young-murder-trial-suv-outside-home

Terry Tiller told jurors she passed by the Young residence on the morning of November 3, 2006, between four and five o’clock in the morning. She says all the lights were on in the home and a “white or yellow” SUV was parked parallel to the house.

Exactly, but ... careful with the "white or yellow" SUV. She actually testified that it was a light colored vehicle and the prosecution, during cross, asked it if might have been white or yellow ... she agreed, that light colored vehicle might have been white or yellow. The color was not part of her original testimony. If she had been asked if it was silver or gray, she would most likely have agreed to that as well.

Watched the PY cross. Good thing for DT they have Beaver - if the state has a case and it gets knocked down it will be because of that. PY's testimony is riddled with fairy tales and strained explanations that make the cigar door prop story seem straightforward; and that was on direct. Just one low point on the c-x: the song and dance to avoid answering directly on sending presents back to LF. Other low points: all the songs and dances on how LF was treated; ultra-self-serving testimony re: JY, finances, etc. (tough to chronicle it all). Final testimony on part 4 justifying JY's statement that his "nights were filled" as an accurate representation on the reason for a lack of communication with a financial firm when he was in jail makes Clinton's "depends on what the definition of is is" look like a reasonable parsing of the English language.

Granted she's working hard to keep her son out of jail but it's good for the DT to have moved on to CB for their sake, IMO.

I was impressed that she was able to push the ball back into the prosecution's court.

Demonstrating that the child was a pawn in the struggle between the two families doesn't prove murder.

What should a mother say about her son's whereabouts when he's in lockup ... what euphamism works? If she really was combative, as has been suggested here and there, she would have explained that she didn't want to state where her son really was and hoped that the euphamism she chose would be acceptable.

I wonder why that print is part of the images available online if it doesn't connect to anything ... I've wondered that for a long time. I kept expecting an explanation but if there was one, I missed it.

Was it the elderly woman that also spotted the vehicle at the end of the driveway?

I think this testimony will get him an acquittal.. I really think HC and her testimony of the way SBI treated her has pretty well sealed a NG verdict this time.

Yes, but she testified there was no one in it at the time.

I think many was hoping for a explanation. None to my knowledge has been given.

There are an awful lot of unanswered questions that could, as a totality, result in a guilty verdict. Individually, many of them fall flat, but as a group ... gas attendant (never mind that she doesn't remember anything), attempted murder (never mind that there's nothing to support that), extra shoes (never mind that Jason was too disorganized to calculate gas), rock (never mind that it wasn't a match to Jason) ... and you get my drift ... as a totality, it's been a lengthy amount of inexplicable stuff that doesn't point to Jason - but still, it's a lot of stuff ... the jury may look at it as a lot of stuff ... all those coincidences that individually don't mean much of anything.

Thank you. So the elderly neighbor with the fantastic sense of humor and the newspaper delivery person both, independently, witnessed a vehicle at the end of the driveway at about the same time on the morning of the murder.

I couldn't believe it when she said "you had me come all the way up here for that!" She was making reference to Jason's remark when the media tracked him down at the basketball game.

LOL, think she has been reading message boards? She is a sly little fox and such a sense of humor. I fell in love with her. A sweetie for sure. It was her and the postal worker.
ETA, she most likely watched NC most wanted, I think that quote was a part of a special on TV., I think..

She kind of set herself up for it, knowing that Jason is not testifying again, any issues the prosecution could expose had to be introduced through her - like the returned gifts.

I found it interesting that the prosecution introduced that there was another sister that lived nearby but who was not testifying.

--i didn't see trial #1-- did the sister testify at that time?

I didn't say her testimony, as a defense witness or on c-x, was proof of murder. Red herring.

She didn't suggest the euphemism, JY did. Red herring. JY was asking her to mislead and lie, just like he regularly did, all the time. I think she even said she didn't, though she tried to justify his euphemism.

The FIL, the BIL, the SIL to me came across as pretty straightforward. PY not so much, which is a euphemism for she told tall tales and hard to swallow stories which are euphemisms for I think she was lying, a lot.

Therefore, I think the DT was well served to get onto the eyewitness testimony, which will have a logical bearing on the verdict.

IMO. Others have the opinion, I guess, that she was strictly truthful and fully helpful to the defense, and that's another perspective on the testimony.

The badgering of this wittiness right here at the end of the trial is going, IMO, really stand out in the minds of these jurors.
We will just have to wait.
Really enjoyed tonights conversation. Off to bed, tomorrow should wrap up the DT.. Glad to see this trial coming to a end.. Long 5 years.
:seeya: Good night

Thanks ... that was such a pointed remark ... it seemed to me that she was saying that everything about Jason was interpretted with an agenda ... like she was trying to neutralize that remark by using it in a different context.

She may be in poor health, but her mind is certainly sharp ... no question about that.
