Even though I'm getting sappy about PY, I still think JY is a guilty 🤬🤬🤬 and should rot in jail forever.

Did anyone else see that video from the courtroom just now of JY with PY?

Is the trial on right now? All I have are bars. tia

i have rainbows

It went into the courtroom for a bit (Not sure how long, I only saw about 5-10 seconds of it) with no sound. JLY was sitting next to PY and telling her something and she was nodding vigorously, then someone behind them leaned up to say something.

ETA: Then he got up and grabbed his cup and it went back to bars

It's a strategy to remind the jury about all of JY's lies, behaviors, hidden agendas, as well as bring out the inconsistencies in testimony. He can get this info in and do the reminding through JY's mother, who painted a specific picture of her little imp yesterday.

Also, PY lied on the stand. I caught at least half a dozen lies, but I was only listening a little bit yesterday and earlier today. The state would be remiss if they did not impeach testimony that is in direct conflict with the truth. Yes she's his mother, but she is also complicit in some of his deeds and certainly in several things after the murder.

Absolutely, thanks for posting my thoughts so eloquently.

For those of you with dogs - what would Mr. G be doing if he heard the struggle and murder going on

1 ...if the murderer is JY and

2...an unknown person

Can anyone explain what/where they believe was happening with Mr. G?

I really think it depends on the relationship Mr.G had with JY. My dog is a German Shorthair Pointer, but he's a neurotic mess. Even though he was intended to be for my husband as a hunting dog, this is MY dog. He adores me, I am mom, he follows me everywhere, etc... I am not his disciplinarian. I verbally correct him for scratching doors, going in rooms he's not allowed, things like that... but he's not afraid of me at all. He is TERRIFIED of my husband! We really don't know why, other than my husband was the one to rub his nose in mistakes when we first brought him home when he was 6 months old. He's never been violent physically with the dog, he strongly verbally corrects him for things and that causes the dog to panic. He actually hides from my husband if he knows my husband is mad about something. It's really strange! He's usually a very friendly dog to most everyone else, but there are a few men that walk by that he goes INSANE at barking and becoming very upset when they pass the house. These same men give me the creeps. He also hates UPS drivers, don't know why. So I can see the dog behaving several ways towards strangers... but what about JY? Was Mr. G afraid of JY? If he was, I could understand Mr. G hiding if JY was in the house murdering MY. MOO.

Cross examination is to bring out lies/inconsistencies. Perhaps the cross wouldn't last so long is PY's direct testimony didn't include so many lies.

I agree... Makes the PT look as if they have nothing so they have to keep going & going till they get something... Hmmm!!

Are they coming back to PY after the break?

I'm starting to feel for her. She obviously loves her son and is wanting to protect him (i.e. not tell the entire truth at all times). Not saying it's right at all, and I'm hopeful 1). I would NEVER be in such a situation; and 2) If I was, I would be able to act honorably. But it's hard I'm sure. I know HC is needing to rein in some of the stuff, but he just needs to end soon before the jurors start feeling like I am (and this is a complete change of opinion for me).

I would like to say I could feel for her, but I don't. When I see PY I see a woman that is in it for self-preservation. She loves her son, but she excuses all of Jason's bad behavior as silly, impish, when in reality she raised a sociopath. You can see her temper just below the surface, if this wasn't court I could see her raging. She raised a sociopath, the fact that she constantly coddled and made excuses for his bad behavior, EVEN as an adult, makes me think she has culpability, in MY opinion.

There is a lot of similarities between some of the mother's of people I believe are guilty of murder, like Jackie Peterson, Cindy Anthony, Pat Young, and Karyn Abaroa.

Yes PT was not done. He was about to start speaking when the judge called for the break

Lies? Can you elaborate? I watched all day yesterday and I didn't think she lied. I saw a woman who loves her son and loved her DIL. Let's not blame mom for JY's actions. I'm sick and tired of moms being blamed for what their kids do. He is a grown man!! He had affairs. He may have murdered his wife. She didn't tell him to do it.

Rant over

My dog, a golden retreiver (RIP) never would have protected me. After helping the intruders carry out anything they wanted, she would have told them she was starving and demanded a snack. Then she'd want to go with them cause hey...a ride in the car! Cool! Let's go now!

True, but it could also make the PT look desperate & if I were on the jury thats exactly what I would be thinking...

The prosecution has 1 shot to get it right - give it your all. If she's a liar, let HC show it. If she loses her temper or gets frazzled, all the better...

I don't think they can show her as a liar though because she didn't know about most of the stuff she is being questioned about today - didn't know about the the affairs, she probably had a rough idea at best of their financial situation, I don't think she knew about JY's violent episode with GC until the trials, etc.

What lies are they trying to expose?

I agree with you. Not only do I think she's fair game, but I think she made herself so with her divorced-from-reality portrait of JY, selective memory, and lack of empathy for dead women and babies. I don't feel sorry for her either - there's that old expression - if you can't hang with the big dogs, stay on the porch... something about her makes you think she can hang, yes?

I was going to say... my dog wouldn't care less unless I were being beaten with something edible and then she would only be there to catch the crumbs. About the only thing she would do is bark when they came in.

Beth Karas is on TTV now talking about it. Being kinda hard on PY. Compared her to Cindy Anthony.

I am a self appointed mock juror and I find this testimony most interesting. I am not the least bit bored nor do I feel the PT is being disrespectful to PY. IMO these PT questions are logical as it gives insight into the family dynamics. Such as, PY cannot recall if JLY ever discussed the challenges of being a young father and husband with her but she can recall JLY discussing his lack of sex with his wife with her?

I didn't watch the first trial so i am soaking up this testimony from PY.

Ooooo, Beth Karras (sp) just said on trutv that PY is bing compared to Cindy
Anthony!

Back to lurking :D
