Yes, IMO absolutely normal for spouses to consult each other about furniture and artwork for in the home. Not so much for purchasing cookware or tools.

RE: PY's testimony. I did not feel she was being badgered. Defense attorney could object if he thought that was the case. He did not object. Prosecutor did a good job of catching her in lies, and also of revealing her as meanspirited in returning presents unopened to the aunt and other grandmother.

Six months to turn over a list of "items missing from the house" to LE because she was "mad at them"? SHE "finds a fingerprint on a shoeshine box"? (And she knew this how?) NOW, after all this time, she remembers a cigar humidor, having never, ever mentioned it before?

Her testimony was effectively shown for what it is. Biased and full of untruths.

The map was NOT to confuse. Rewatching on TV, it was a diagram. Copying Stella5's post above:

After approaching witness with map board
This being Birchleaf drive and this being the house back there, this being the road and this being the driveway...
"The driveway to what"
The house back here... (PT is pointing out the Young residence)
"On Birchleaf?"
Uhhuh...
"it wasn't on Birchleaf"
So the car you saw was on Enchanted Oaks?
"Yeah"

Word for Word.

Yes there is a WOW!! No spouse should have to ASK if he or she can buy something, bring something home or do something..... You can discuss it but its like he HAD to get permission before he could bring it home....

For example this weekend Im going to buy the Paula Deen cookware set... Did I ask my husband if I could or if I could bring a set home?? No... When he wants to buy new tools he doesnt ask.. We talk about it, but we dont ask permission... Asking ur spouse if you can do something makes him or her look controlling..Hmmm!!!

Cookware or power tools does not equal furniture. Consulting with the spouse before bringing home a piece of furniture is not a matter of being controlled or the act of controlling.

Doggone it, I saw her in the courtroom earlier today. I should have tipped you all off that she'd be testifying!

I guess the defense will continue with the eye witnesses seeing cars at the home, maybe Cindy Beaver will be next.

Travis Branch, the newspaper man was called as a rebuttal last time in the state's case, I am not sure if and how he will come in.

If CB testifies again that she can not be positive the day was Friday Nov 3rd and that the only way she could be certain it was that Friday was if someone could see if it was a different News and Observer delivery person on Nov 3rd because she said it was a different N and O the day she remembers. The PT called Travis Branch because he is the Nand O delivery person for the past 15 years and his work records show he was working Nov 3rd. So if it goes that way this time I would think PT would again call Travis Branch in rebuttal again this trial.

OMG!!! No matter tools beds, tables , etc... NO ONE should have to ASK permission... BTW some tools can cost more than furniture or artwork..... I know this for a fact since my hubby is a mechanic...

Again one should not have to ask permission....

I think permission is the wrong word. I will always consult my partner before a major purchase. Specially if he will be having to sit on it, sleep on it, look at it every day. He does the same. Otherwise, I would be single and do whatever I wanted. jmho

I'm not a MOD or anything, but TOS says attack the post and not the poster.

Don't want anyone to get in trouble.

Ok so the same day when Cindy Beaver saw the car at 5:20ish, she came home from work around 3pm and noticed a bunch of cars, people(presumably Meredith and CY) and the sheriff.

Pretty credible imo.

We only have JY's word for it that he had to ask "permission". He is not a truthful source, imo. If this point even makes any difference in this trial.:seeya:

She committed a ton of details to memory given she's moving 20mph down a dark narrow winding road at 5:30 am, and remarkably didn't think to tell anyone anything for a week.

How can she possibly note details of the subtle "glow of the dashboard lights" on the mystery perps faces, and at the same time describe that she felt bad about blasting the car with her bright headlights?

I think this is more imagination than memory.

My point is she said JY had to ASK Michelle if he could bring it home.... Made it sound like he was having to ask permission....

Im done with this....

It is amazing to me how people automatically throw out this woman's testimony and cling to Gracie's as golden.
