Thanks ... I'm listening to the testimony when I can, but missing lots of it too.

The reason the shoe was important to me, was because we were under the impression for so long, that CY had been asleep until she was found.

This looks like to me, she had been up and around, and into her things.

I doubt the killer(s) put her shoes in bed with her.

It also raised the theory , based on the search warrant for Michelle's Lexus that LE thought she had been taken from the home after the murder.

I agree with that possibility..

No one can explain how her PJ's stayed clean without a trace of blood, testified from the first responders.
They were even surprised after seeing so many of her footprints in blood.

Hi Cammy,
I looked up goth kill and got a bunch of videos for a band. Do you mean that followers of this band killed Michelle????

(honestly I don't have grey hair or walk with a cane)

But most goth kids from way back when were harmless teens looking for attention.

I consider the Petit murders pretty much overkill (although not to the degree that MY went through). Those were strangers.

I don't think of the Petit murders as overkill. Yes, they were brutal, but they were rape/robbery of lots of money/murders. I believe the fire was set to destroy any evidence in the home, fingerprints, DNA, etc. Overkill, I think of either spouses/significant others brutality, stabbing or slashing far past the point of death. Or the Ted Bundy type, a psychopath who rapes, tortures and kills women because of their hatred towards women in general. JMO

goth kill=scott dysleski type

victim=Pamela Vitale Horowitz, Daniel's wife
brutal, horrific beating, overkill with crown molding as a weapon

The Petite murders weren't 'overkill,' they were killed in a fire that was started for the purpose of killing them and removing forensic evidence. Mrs Petit was strangled first; she was the only one who was dead before the fire. The crime was as cold and heinous as it gets, but the death of the 2 girls was from carbon monoxide poisoning as a result of the fire.

Overkill, in my definition, means continuing to subject a victim to further injuries even after they are already fatally injured or dead. Michelle's murder was overkill. Convicted murderess, Susan Wright, with 193 stab wounds to her husband, had committed an "overkill." Full of rage.

The FBI has had behavioral profiles done for many years (decades actually). Certain manners of death are noted to be personal, done by an intimate. Also they have ways of classifying murders and injuries and determining rage, overkill, that sort of thing. Michelle was attacked up close and personal. First face to face as she was strangled, then beat on her face and head, around her mouth.

Pure rage.

Here's an interesting article about profiling: http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2007/11/12/071112fa_fact_gladwell?currentPage=3

I believe the two children died of smoke inhalation can not remember the mothers COD, but the father was struck multiple times and left for dead, but I would not classify that in the same league with what Michelle must have endured. At least the news accounts did not make them seem that similar to me.

Thank you! There appear to be two shoes ... a black one and a flipflop. That suggests to me that this child was awake and doing a number of things while she was alone. I doubt she was sleeping when Meredith arrived.

Exactly.

Is it true that there was a bloody footprint on her pillow that didn't match Jason's? I am shocked no physical evidence was found at the crime scene that points the finger at Jason.

Size 10 and size 12 shoe prints ... neither matched to Jason's that Jason owned. Shoe print should be based on not only sole pattern but wear pattern ... in my opinion ... so without shoes to compare the prints to, it's all hypothetical.

Fire is another impersonal method, like shooting. Hands off, hands free, no interpersonal engagement. Its the difference between wanting someone removed, and wanting to to hurt someone. The former is driven by rational motive (eliminate a witness) - the latter is driven by emotion, hate or rage against a person, a race, an orientation, an ideolgy.

ETA - I'm surprised this conversation is even necessary, as the psychology behind it all is fairly elementary.

The testimony was that CY was awake when Meredith came into the BR. CY was hiding under the covers and popped her head up and stared at her aunt then jumped into her aunt's arms as soon as she saw her.

Not true.

Those HP shoes with the orbital print in size 12 exactly match shoes JY purchased 15 months before from DSW. A receipt proves this. JY admitted to owning those shoes but his excuse was that his wife gave them away to charity. That of course was a lie. He discarded them, along with his bloody pullover and other items, after he murdered his wife. They are in a land fill somewhere between NC and VA. Then he conveniently replaced those HP shoes a couple days after the murder with a very similar pair of HP. Not exact, but similar. Brown HP, size 12.

After seeing the photos of the bathroom and now seeing two different shoes in the master bedroom bed, I think she was probably awake for much of the time that she was alone. The shoes and bathroom photos give me more doubts about medicine drugging, being carried to bed and pretty much all the theories about what happened between the murder and the time that Meredith arrived.

That was one case I could not follow the details.

So the sole of the shoe prints were similar to the sole of shoes that Jason owned more than a year earlier? Without the actual shoes, a match cannot be made. Prints depend not only on sole patterns, which can be matched to thousands of people, but wear patterns, which are unique.

Wait for the FBI /SBI person to testify. No doubt those shoes (which have a somewhat rare sole type) were involved in making those bloody prints at the crime scene. Comes down to if you believe JY's story that his wife gave away those shoes to charity.

Jurors are complaining about hard seats.

Jurors are asking if they can work during the trial
