Off topic - WRAL just sent a breaking news alert that Scott Morris pleaded guilty to his wife Kelly's murder. What is up with all these NC men killing their wives?

Really! Kelly Morris/Scott Morris, the guy who set fire to his house and burned it down the day wife 'went missing'? I'm surprised he pleaded out? Was the DP on the table.

Yes, perhaps that is why Brad Cooper and the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and death of Nancy were so clear to many of us. This wasn't an isolated crime. We had a whole string of 'em running. And we had NO cases, other than Stephanie Bennett, being randomly brutally murdered. One of my daughters, at the time, lived in the Berkshire Downs area. Another wife was murdered right in her neighborhood. The victim and her husband didn't live there. She was in her car, being chased down by her husband in his car. She turned into the subdivision, he ran her car up into someones yard, can't recall if it hit the house there or not. But husband jumped out of his car, broke her drivers side window, and IIRC, beat her to death as she sat in her car. Late morning, middle of the day, IIRC, sometime just before noon. We had a real string of them happening in just a couple years time. For this size area, and the fact that most of these women were middle to upper middle class women, not your usual crime victim type.

Ok, here it is. The staff said the exit doors were always locked and you needed a key card to enter at any time. This sign contradicts that statement.
Appears the west door was open at 6:15AM for JLY to reenter w/o a key.

Again, this matches what the front desk person told me on Friday as well.

*snipped by me*

Yes, they were planning to seek the DP. He plead to 2nd degree murder.

He was just talking about retrieving DNA from the jewelry box but it sounded just like "jury box." I was terribly confused for a minute there. :)

Yes. And he is only getting 13-16 years for doing it when they were going to pursue the death penalty.

That's how my aunt talks. She says jury instead of jewelry. She says aight instead of all right.

Perhaps a 'southern dictionary' needs to be compiled?

Have to leave for my appointment now. Back later.

That is a great incentive, ncsu, to plead guilty to 2nd degree murder.

I understand everything because I grew up in the area. When my children were little we lived in CA and would visit family in NC. I had to translate for my children what their cousins were saying.

I sure hope they come back on re-direct.
Again, where is the master-bath blood evidence??????

To confuse southern dialect, there are regional accents and comments. When I am in some areas of NC, I have to listen carefully to understand what is being said. Good question, JTF.

Years ago, we were selling a used car we had, and some guy came to look at it when I was home alone, no husband. So the guy is looking at it, and checking out the engine. He turns to me and askes 'does it use much awl?' I was completely baffled as to what AWL was. I said 'excuse me?' So he repeated it again. I still had no idea, but luckily we had a workman at the house that day. I beckoned him to come and help me. He translated for me AWL = OIL. :floorlaugh:

Now Gracie -- think about this word, "oil." Is is possible to have a 3-letter word that has 3 syllables?? Hmmmm.

Homicide 3 syllables, makes sense
Cold-blooded 3 syllables, makes sense
Murderer 3 syllables, makes sense
Jason Young 3 syllables, makes sense
Is Guilty 3 syllables, makes sense

Morning all.

The master bath evidence has been on my list of things to look out for. I have always wondered how he got out of the house without leaving a trail of blood in some way. Have any of you hypothesized about how he got his clothes out of there without dripping blood or smearing it in any way? Hmm.. wonder where they kept garbage bags? A recent print on that cupboard wouldnt surprise me...

Does your aunt have a prescription to "Guideposts" or "Reader's Digest"? (that's my personal favorite)

Sentenced to 13--16 years. <thud> Drug dealers have gotten more than that. They let him plead to 2nd DM.

No, but my mom reads Guidepost. At 94, I order the Large Print. She loves them. Of course, she loves any book. And she has no pronounced accent. It varies.

Now, where is the blood evidence in the bathroom?

I'm thinking he took off his clothes, inside out, rolled into a ball, put into a bag of some type. Later he added the 2 pairs of shoes and perhaps the murder weapon. Took a shower, cleaned the shower or else washed himself outside with the hose
