:clap::clap: AND picked a doll that MOST resembled JY. I don't care about the gender...it looked most like JY out of all the dolls. Period.

There were three figures to choose from (after excluding those without distinct features) and one was dressed as a doctor - that doesn't leave a lot of choices. A white haired, elderly, female figure wearing a purple suit doesn't resemble any photos I've seen of Jason.

Maybe she was referencing her dad because she was traumatized and the next person that figured prominently in her world was her dad.

Yes, which is exactly what I would expect a scared, confused little girl to do.

And the obvious doctor dressed in green scrubs / hat w/ black hair does :waitasec:

It's the prosecution that has to challenge gender. The figure is clearly a woman and I suspect that everyone here, if offered a million dollars to correctly identify the gender, would have no problem stating that the figure is a woman - an elderly female figure similar to a traditional grandmother figure.

Why should the prosecution challenge the gender???? It's not as if this poor child was given a line up of dolls and asked to pick the killer!!! for gods sake! She was playing with toys and picked two dolls and acted out a murder of her mother....pretty darn close to what the evidence supports. If she would have had a tall male to have chosen from ...I"m sure she would have picked it. Sorry, but it is just so clear and simple to me.

Was not able to do much with the hallway photo. Not enough resolution. I used the photo from WRAL. However, I think I can spot a zipper and a floppy collar. Collar appears to be shifted over JY's left shoulder (our right) to make it appear like its a hooded sweatshirt.

These are most certainly jeans. They appear to have the cargo loop thing on each outside leg.

Purple *guy* reminds me of JLY in the 'you came here for that' video. :seeya:

Okay, so you agree there were 3 figures for a two year old to choose from...A tall blond figure or a doctor. I'd say she chose the closest one that looked like daddy. This wasn't a line up to be challenged. This was a spontaneous play time of a 2 year old that had witnessed her mother be murder just days prior. It should not be scrutinized as if she were an adult witness that picked out a murder suspect in a line up... as some are doing IMO.

If that foot long extension on the thigh area are cargo pockets, they are not the same as these....small right side pocket with carpenter hammer loop on left side...exterior sewn rear pocket

Oh I think her dad was on her mind for sure...

Also, the shoes prints on the scene were likely made by men - if not, then one very, very big woman.

How could MY sustain a beating like she did, teeth flying, skull being fractured and smashed, lips cut, head deeply cut over and over and some of her hair NOT come out? That would be bizarre to me.

It was a clump of hair with roots.. I am sure the jury clearly understood this.. I assume it was yanked out by someones hands. MOO

Factually, as the defense pointed out, the figure is a female. If the prosecution wants to present the female figure as Jason, they have to overcome the gender problem.

I'm still having trouble w/ why the 911 tape isn't allowed to be played for the jury in its entirety. I can see not allowing the 05:01 part if an older child or adult said (what most hear as) "daddy did it." There would be the potential to mislead w/ someone older. But, w/ a toddler what she says is what she says. It's what it is.

Is it because it could be said she was coached to say things by MF, so being too prejudicial, the judge disallows it?

Please help me here. This is buggin the crap outa me.

Yep, forceably removed, to be exact.
How does that make the perpetrator a woman?

  • #514
I think any suggestion that MF had something to do with the crime is disgusting and dishonest.

There is ZERO evidence of it. I would have to be mod snipped to high heaven if I said what I thought of someone who would just throw that out there as some way to support JY or take a shot at LE while adjusting a tinfoil hat.

I don't think any poster has suggested anything that has NOT been suggested at trial and discussed on here when Meredith was testifying. Why hide or omit any of the trial? Even the JIG was angry that the defense made such insinuation..

Certainly. The pants on the bottom appear to be Dockers style, not jeans. The jeans, I believe, are the same or similar to those pictured in hall. The outer loop would be covered by the sweater. The outside of the legs seem to show a cargo style pocket of some type. (I think I said loop in previous post. I meant the useless finger pocket thing.)

I haven't seen a poster do that either. There has been a suggestion that the theory has been put forth and that would be very, very low IMO.

I agree anybody should be able to discuss anything about the case.

Otto, I agree the figure is a female. I am saying I don't believe they have to "overcome" the gender though. She was a 2 year old with limited dolls to choice from, as she was spontaneously playing at daycare days after her mother was murdered. For me, what she acting out is what is important. This poor child should not be held to standards of a traditional line up of identifying a witness.

  • #518
The judge was pretty clear, I thought, that he would not let the attacking doll be used as identification as JY. He would allow only that the scene represented evidence CY witnessed the assault.

Ok, so where are these "docker style" pants?????
They were not in his suitcase or SUV

I guess the defense will say he wore casual dockers with this grey suit coat?
Sweet!

Can't wait for the CB video...that should be color and it should be obvious what color/style pants he was wearing.

Longer version of the 911 call played in court on on June 8, 2011.

Jun 9, 2011 - 12:52pm - Jason Young trial testimony (Day 1, pt 3)

Part 3 of testimony from Meredith Fisher on June 8, 2011. (Viewer discretion is advised.)

http://www.wral.com/specialreports/michelleyoung/video/9703226/#/vid9703226

Here is the call from NC Wanted.com

http://www.ncwanted.com/unsolved/audio/1635165/

It is just the call, and, regretfully, it does not include MY's conversation with the WCSO. (Why? -- no idea) But this one is not the one from within the courtroom which contains the dialogue of BH, et al. The timing of the call commences at the beginning of the call itself. It is much clearer than the one we hear in the courtroom -- it does not have the ambient noise. The time references given by enzeder can be coordinated much more accurately with this version.

01:57 - MF: "Do you know what happened to Mommy, Did she fall?"

02:00 - CY: ""Daddy did....."

02:02 - 02:03 - CY: "Did that .. he did"

02:06 - CY: "everywhere, and, and did that.

05:02 - CY: "Daddy did it......."

enzeder - Again, many thanks for giving us the above timings for the statements of the 911 call!

Please know that I presented the NC Wanted recording only because it is a bit more clear and we can better correlate your timing of the statements. Thanks for the trouble you went to for us when you so patiently listed the statements with their times.
