I think he's on the Grant Haze murder trial, and he did another high profile over the summer. They've got to spread out the big cases, specifically time wise. I don't know when Haze goes to trial (if it does), but I think the Young trial was impeded last time by Cumming's almost overlap with BC.

He did the sicko that raped and murdered his 10 month old stepdaughter
DP case....I was in the jury pool and thankfully was dismissed after 3 days.
(said I already formed an opinion and can't be fair)

I get the impression that his specialty (or strength) is in stuff that deal with technology like computer forensics, cell phones, etc. There doesn't seem to be as much of that here as in the BC case.

True, but at least when he did questioning, he showed some fire, some emotion, some disgust, etc. Much like Freda Black in the Michael Peterson trial.

I could not have been fair there either.

Because of the kid in this one, I've been relatively close minded in spite of my posts here.

I remember that one, didn't he get off? By 'get off' I mean in sentencing? I could stick the needle in his arm myself, and go out to dinner afterwards without any regret. :maddening:

Anyway, we're stuck with the 2 we have. Not even Saacks has made an appearance this time, and I thought he was very good.

Dull & Duller. :(

I thought Becky Holt had the Hayes case. Did they give it to someone else? Would they be keeping him in the jail? He needs to be locked up in the nastiest prison in NC.

If I was the defense attorney, I would throw this one. I would take the hit for the good of humanity to see JY locked up for eternity.

Last time when HC started choking himself I thought he was having a stroke or something. LOL It took me a second to realize what he was doing. Maybe this time he'll pretend to hit himself in the head with a ball bat 30 times.

Dull & Duller. :(
Call me laid back but neither one bothers me.
One only needs to LISTEN.
Quietly listen.
The facts and puzzle pieces are there.

How about when he opened his eyes wide for emphasis?
What a tool.

Or when he pretended to cry about Rylan, his lawyer asked another question, he squinted his eyes, blinking really fast as if he was trying to see where his lawyer was through blurry watery eyes. That was so fake.

Actually, I think they should show the approximate force and number of blows. I dunno how. But it would have an awesome effect to see how long it takes, even on the short end to beat someone in that type of blitz attack.

These aren't bad prosecutors. It's a weird case. If anyone can pull it off, it's HC. BZ is too loose with the rules and leaves room for appeal. These guys have been round the block.

I keep hoping HC will work in: This was a very thorough investigation, we ruled out everyone and every thing else and this IS what happened.

What's your gut, grit?
Think he will take the stand again?

His Academy award performance is already part of the record and can be used again to explain his movements (shoes to goodwill, cigar, ect)

Of course it's always a dangerous move. He had, more or less, the element of surprise last time, but still likely they would have thought it necessary to justify the danger.

If it was necessary last time, or at least worth the risk, you'd think it would be this time too. But this time, there should be no surprise and they have his testimony from last time to box him in, so of course the risk of the PT getting him on something is greater. Maybe he's got some new info on the pullover and slightly more evolved answers on his hotel movements in store for us.

To me his testimony was so self-centered and so self-serving I thought he would have damaged his case, but apparently not.

A toss up, just sitting here thinking about it.

This female would also be leaving size 12 or 10 prints as well!

Agreed, gritguy! Good point..... And here I am with the size 6 feet. (size 4 men's -- I do have a pair of size 4 red Chuck Taylor's!)

And let's remember that a man's size 10 is not the same as a woman's size 10, etc.

A man's size 10 is equivalent to a woman's size 12; a man's size 12 is equivalent to a woman's size 14. We're talking US sizes here.

See chart in this link:

Bigfoot comes to call....

I agree HC has been around the block and knows what he doing.
His slow style is what it is.
BH? Far too many mistakes last time - she showed me very little.
I'm sure her delivery grates on the jury.

Yea, Boz is green and will learn from his mistakes.
He is smart, energetic and articulate.

The final summation is key for a conviction.
Unlike last time, they must connect the dots.

More EVOLVED or more DETAILED? He is into
LENGTHY details. It worked the last time. I think he won't take the stand again yet the boy's got moxie! He just might give it a go. I hope he does.

There were three figures to choose from (after excluding those without distinct features) and one was dressed as a doctor - that doesn't leave a lot of choices. A white haired, elderly, female figure wearing a purple suit doesn't resemble any photos I've seen of Jason.

Jason or his mommy.

It was a clump of hair with roots.. I am sure the jury clearly understood this.. I assume it was yanked out by someones hands. MOO

Like Jasons' hands, while he was yanking her around by her hair and beating the hell out of her.

  • #579
Factually, as the defense pointed out, the figure is a female. If the prosecution wants to present the female figure as Jason, they have to overcome the gender problem.

There is no gender problem to overcome, have you looked at the doll dressed in a purple suit ? Definitely looks like a MAN to me, looks alot like Jason, maybe what his dad looked like, too.

Is there a way to upload a wav file? I took the 911 recording and using Audacity I tried to filter out as much noise as possible. The wav file is from the 5:00 - 5:02 and it may isolate exactly what CY said.
