State wants answers from Baez

So apparently he has no objections? No specific objections? Doesn't know what the heck is going on? More likely no VALID objections against the evidence.

It's incompetency such as this that makes you question our legal system and justice for the victim. I am just speechless.

It's awful that Jose is allowed to practice let alone represent someone charged with a crime such as this.:twocents:

Even if he was free, I wouldn't want him to defend me against spitting on the sidewalk!

I think Baez IS doing this on purpose. He can't withdraw from the case. This case is costing him lots of time and money. He knows he is not going to win. He want the judge to kick him out. It's blatantly obvious at this point. NO one can be this incompetent. :waitasec:

This theory works for me. ;) Should be fun to see who takes the lead after Baez flees.

What in the world is the matter with CM that he is letting himself get caught up in all of these shenanigans? Is he really senile? I thought he was supposed to be a good attorney? Does he really want to be remembered by this farce? Cheney Mason, where are you?

I'll save him the hunt.. here are 4 pages of words that mean thwart. I personally like contravene... dunno why but it sounds lawyerly or something. :innocent:

I am so amazed that Baez can't seem to understand an order that Judge Perry so plainly and clearly set forth everything he expected to be done for the Frye hearing. I quite honestly can't figure out what they are so confused about... and I can't wait for the hearing on this rule to show cause. Fining him didn't work so I wonder what the good judge will do to set Baez straight? Maybe... :behindbar ?

If I understood the order, I can't understand why 2 lawyers(ahem) can't figure it out.
Maybe I should send Pogo to help them out?
moo :cow:

What boggles my mind is....

First....what else does JB actually DO with his time if not trying to meet his deadlines and obtain the info he's required to submit to the court by the given deadlines ?
As in, even PRETEND to be a lawyer, ie: actually behave in a professional manner and uphold the oath he swore to uphold when entering the Bar Assoc.

We can see by the visitor logs that he doesn't seem to be going to see KC to discuss things on a daily basis...I mean, he has no other cases he's working on...OR maybe I'm mistaken.

And, Second....IIRC, last time he didn't comply with a deadline set forth by a motion by HHJP, he feigned ignorance, lack of time, etc. HHJP asked why didn't JB just file for an extension ?

Since JB is feigning "confusion", with THIS latest motion, why didn't he go to HHJP or even Ashton to clarify his order...just to make sure he was on the same page....maybe send an "email" or "give a call", since JB ALWAYS accuses the prosecution of not doing such things to take care of matters before bringing it to the judges attention....he could have done this days BEFORE the deadline.

Again, IIRC, CM even made a big hub bub over needing transcripts of of some meeting to put together his info/objections of what to cover in the Frye hearing....he even made a big issue over LDB not turning over transcripts and she said he was there in the meeting...he had a CD of the meeting....she thought it was obvious he could use the CD and THEN get it transcribed.....hope I got that correct. NO mention of "confusion" on what needed to be done....no mention of prior motions as the ONLY source of report of their objections. CM KNEW full well what he needed to do for the Frye hearing.

Selective ignorance of the rules of the court, state and HHJP. CM made a big performance about NEVER being held in contempt....Mr. Mason, NEVER say never !!

I can't get over how much this reminds me of being a responsible adult dealing with recalcitrant children...

IMO, if Baez can not understand what non-legally trained people can understand, then he has no business being an attorney and should be disbarred immediately. This is a real-life trial over the disgusting murder and disposal of a real human-being 2 year old child, not some 'let's pretend' trial game of some first semester law students in a coffee shop.

IMO, there is not a legitimate excuse on the planet for this behavior. I hope Judge Perry lays down the law, with something like a $250+ fine per day this has gone past the deadline, with a statement this will be standard procedure for any future 'missed' deadlines.

As far as future appellate issues, I don't see it. IMO, the state and the court have done everything in their power to ensure Casey receives a fair trial, in spite of her. Issues have been raised to the Florida State Bar concerning Baez at least twice that I am aware of, and they chose not to act on them. Casey has been forced to witness her 'boys' in action throughout, and has been asked repeatedly if she is happy with her 'dream team', and she replies with a yes and a smile. IMO, you can't appeal based on "My attorney is a moron.", there has to be a showing something specific could have been done and wasn't that could have changed the verdict, and IMO, that's as much a reality as Zanny the Nanny.

Besides, if Casey gets the death penalty, there is an automatic appeal anyway, and, IMO, if anyone in the state of Florida has 2 functioning brain cells to rub together, Baez will no longer be an attorney and will be a non-issue.

I don't think JB will get into any trouble on this at all-I think he will tell the judge, at side bar no doubt, that he did not feel he had to expand beyond his motion, that he assumed HHJP only wanted him to address other issues if they were not in the motion.
Do I personally believe him? No. Will HHJP? Probably not. But CM will stand up for JB and smooth this one out, IMO, noting that they strictly wanted to stay within the scope of their motion and that they truly believe that there was no need to go beyond that unless the state brought something else to light. JB/CM might ask the judge-Should we have just resent our motion to the state?

I am starting to think the whole court is corrupt. What Jose Baez is allowed to get away with I never in all my days thought was allowed an officer of the court. I no longer trust this judge. I am sorry.

Someone "in the know" will have to explain how the judge's actions equate to justice. And, explain to me how a lawyer playing possum can work to Casey's advantage. Meaning, why wouldn't there already be ways in place to override an attorney who would use the system to his/her advantage.

Our system is disgusting. This is disgusting what Jose Baez and his team have been allowed. So called professionals coming in to get their name in on the case of a two and a half year old girl who was murdered by her mother.

My conclusion that the court is corrupt is based on the idea: it could be the only reason they would allow themselves to be made such fools of-by one Mr. Jose Baez.

Sad does not cover it. And, our media? I think all these journalists/writers need to go back to college.

:twocents:

Baez I imagine is too busy trying to school everyone else on how to do their job: HHJBP, Ashton, LDB, YM...
I wonder if someone told him in order to take control of a witness or situation, you must pretend that you know more about their occupation than they do, get them off balance, make them question their own veracity, then you can dangle them like a yo-yo on a string. He tried this with Bloise as well.
He just fails at this and comes off looking like a imbecilic d--chebag.

Not that I care about ICA at all, but it is a human LIFE we are talking about here. One that she took, and hers is now on the line. I mean, JB is playing fast and loose with a life, don't ya think? Obviously with all of the missed deadlines, etc., he must not care too much about her life, donchathink?

I think the DP is something not to be taken lightly and all defendants, ICA or not, deserve a competent lawyer. This is just an appellate nightmare.

I just had a thought. It seems throughout this fiasco that JB has tried to keep certain information from making it into the public forum while blowing BS at the public, all in the name of defending his client. Now, we know that most, if not all, of the info that JB has released has been carp. The RK ex-wife recording, the possible sitings of a "live Caylee", evidence that proves his client is innocent, blah, blah, blah. By the same token, he has fought tooth and toenail to keep other info from ever seeing the light of day. How he is being paid, what his experts might say, are there any "deals" in the background for when this trial ends. I wonder if JB is going to try to delay the Frye hearing or possibly keep it from happening because he knows that the SA has something so awfully damning that will be shown or told at the hearing that he knows once it is out it will be game over? Something that he can't BS his way around. The Frye hearing would be televised like the others, correct? Transcripted and available for the likes of Kathi B to request immediately after? I don't think he is as confused as he states. I think he may simply being prolonging the inevitable. MOO.

Bingo! It's the legal version of a magician's sleight-of-hand. Only JB needs more lessons. This is like watching a five-year-old's first attempt to distract you so they can pull a quarter out of your ear.

It's an interesting balancing act CJBP has to perform here. I am no longer so worried about "ineffective assistance of counsel" appeals (thanks largely to the wise AZ!), but at this point JB seems to be aiming his popguns toward a mistrial. I can't even begin to imagine what further hi-jinks Gilligan/Baez is planning to test the Captain's patience...

Why doesn't the state start playing games? Not meeting deadlines, not having the proper documentation, not showing up. Why not? They shouldn't get in any more trouble than ole Mr. Baez and his dream team.

What kind of a system to we have in place when deadlines mean nothing? Really. And, in what other walk of life, or career are you allowed to be this incompetent and be such a smarm? Oh, yeah...politics! I bet that is where we will find mr. baez in the future.

Baez for president! And why not? He seems to be able to run circles around our countries laws. He can do anything he wants and get away with it-I'm sorry I am just so disgusted.

The state has started playing games, but doing it in the opposite way. Note all of the motions to strike recently. Note the motion to show cause. The game the state has decided to play is they are going to do everything right, by the numbers, and they will slam JB and company for anything even slightly wrong. No forgiveness no professional courtesy, no mercy.

He does try awfully hard to make everyone think he has something he wants to keep secret, however, his act is old and no one seems to want to buy.

I swear, sometimes i think we are being punked. This is just so unbelievable.

I understand this is the Chicago seminar week. Didn't JB file some type of notice that said that nothing could be done while he is away from his office, everything needed to stop until he got back? I remember laughing about it then and now I'm enjoying it again.
With this new motion by SA, will JB come back screaming how unfair it was to file it while he was gone and that "no one listens to him any more"?
LOL

I don't think he has anything worthwhile to hide except how low he will stoop.
