Who among our suspects made an "alter" or shrine to Jonbenet? Maybe those people should be considered before someone who by all accounts seemed very sane.

Who among our suspects was in that house that night, and knew the layout of the house, had access to the child as well the supplies that were used in the crime and staging, and wasn't afraid of spending time there staging and writing the RN? Who would JonBenet have sat and ate pineapple with?

Who did the opposite of build a shrine or an alter, and tried to not think about "that JonBenet thing"?

Who really thinks Patsy sounds "very sane"? Whose accounts are you going by?

1) Patsy, John, or Burke!

2) That would be Patsy John and Burke again!

3) From what I understand, no mental profile was done that said she was sane. Dr. Judianne Densen-Gerber, forensic psychiatrist, said that Patsy likely suffered from Intermittent Explosive Disorder. You can take that for what it's worth. In my amateur opinion, Patsy was a histrionic psycho. Just LOOK at that gravesite picture!

I have always thought making fun of victims was "ghoulish". Patsy was a victim! I will take it for what it's worth.

Please...the only victim to be concerned with here is JonBenét, a defenseless six year old child killed in her own home on Christmas night. Patsy was put in a situation of her own creation. It didn't have to go like that for her.

Damn right!

Hi Sissi
I really don't think SuperDave is anymore 'ghoulish' than anyone else here.
I used to feel guilty about having a chuckle on this board or laughing at something someone said, I thought maybe that was somehow disrespectful to JonBenet, which may or may not be the case...but I will never feel guilty about laughing when someone makes a joke about Patsy or John.

And I'm sorry but Patsy didn't come across as a victim to me, the victim here has always been a little six year old girl who had the life choked out of her.

Me neither. A victim would've gone straight to the police station to help the investigation. A victim wouldn't have been trying to fly out of town a half hour after "finding" her child murdered.

I was just playing with the word, remember last week when it was used toward me? I think that picture of Patsy is just horrible, she was grieving, and I do have a problem with making fun of victims. To have a child murdered has to be the most horrible of tragedies. Each member of that family was equally victimized by the monster who did this. No, it wasn't Patsy.

Yes I remember last week when it was used against you, that's why I thought I'd say everyone here could be considered ghoulish, not any one person.
I didn't think you were being ghoulish with that cropped photo business, well no more than anyone else, for god's sake we've seen everything else, we know every aspect of the Ramsey's lives, we know what their house looked like, we know what they ate for breakfast, we've seen all their family pics, videos etc.
I feel invasive alot of times looking at case related stuff, there is no privacy for the Ram's...well except for the secret they've managed to keep quiet about all these years.

Didn't Patsy arrange to have that photo taken??
Like they arranged other things...the church service...

No, she expected and deserved privacy.
She really was a grieving mom, who had no idea who murdered her child, the painting of her as the killer was founded on early reports that were later corrected. I so wish that they would find the killer, name him, to end this.

Sissi
Why is it that Patsy hurled herself on JonBenets body that day, cried, wailed, prayed....acted totally devastated....then half an hour later was considering leaving the state? (well JR was considering it for the both of them)
I have yet to hear one story about her having to be dragged away from her daughters body, crying wailing etc....she just upped and walked out, just left JonBenét lying by herself for hours and hours.
One minute she's devastated, the next minute she walks out of that house as quietly as a lamb.

I don't know about that photo beside the grave, but the church service was definitely orchestrated.

I don't know, I hope I will never know what kinds of emotions and thoughts cross the mind when faced with that kind of horror. I suspect I would want to run to my mother, my family, to be where I felt out of the reach of the monster that took my child. We can fight about this case forever, there's no changing the mind. It's similar to political beliefs , when given brain scans ,they show that the part of the mind that deals with reason shuts off , we take a stand and won't let new information in, no matter how reasonable it may be. This , of course, is not a one sided issue, it's human nature, something sadly we all do.

I do think Patsy was truly devastated that morning, whichever way it went.
But it's your baby Sissi, could you walk out and leave her there all by herself??
I expected to hear more about her having to leave her baby that day, maybe more of the hysterics we got when they found her.
I know it would have been painful to look at her, but leaving her there like that looks to me like they just wanted to get as far away from her as possible and that doesn't make sense unless you want to look at it like distancing, that is the only thing I can make of that.

Lurking on this thread on and off for quite some time, and getting info through the years from the media, I am still baffled as to "who did it".

Sure, Patsy was absolutely guilty of portraying JonBenet in a sexualized manner, with all the makeup, bleaching her hair and having her saunter around half-naked in those stupid pageants. I believe that Patsy was living vicariously through JonBenet, and that Patsy thought that Patsy's own self worth completely hinged on how well her daughter was perceived....in the pageant world, at least. IMHO, she thought that parading JonBenet through those lame-🤬🤬🤬 pageants made herself look good, and that by spending the thousands of dollars on the costumes and get-ups that it made her look like a good mother. Pasty needed JonBenet. She needed her to feed Patsy's shallowness and ego. So, why in the world would she kill her? I mean, she absolutely doted on JonBenet. Certainly not in a way that I would.....I would never make my daughter saunter out on stage in front of strangers, half dressed, heavily made up and all....BUT there are people who do place VALUE on that sort of thing (why, I don't know), I just don't see her going from one extreme of having JonBenet be her little puppet to completely discarding her.

Hey that's exactly what Patsy did.
Left her precious daughter like a discarded toy next to that tree, just walked out and left her there all by herself....

julianne,
To have a mother who is married to a millionaire behave in such a manner is curious?

I dont doubt self-worth and ego played a part, but I do not think the motive was simply to make her look like a good mother.

There may have been more darker motives, unspoken about in bible belt america, but understood by those who have experienced its effects.

Its possible Patsy never killed JonBenet, but she knows who did!

I didn't imply that Patsy's behavior regarding JonBenet's beauty pageants was curious....it's not really curious to me, only because I am well aware that there are mothers out there who place a high value on this sort of thing and who will go to all lengths to get their girl in as many pageants as possible.

I don't really think that the fact that John was a millionaire was that much of a motivating factor in Patsy pushing JonBenet into pageants. Being that Patsy was herself a beauty pageant contestant, or winner, in her own youth would be more of a factor than that. I could be wrong, but to me, families who come from alot of money tend to have their children involved in activities that require more skills and talent than beauty pageants. Families with alot of money can afford the private gymnastic lessons, private horseriding lessons, music lessons--etc. But--I am neither a millionaire nor a pageant person, so who knows!

What IS curious to me is that there are alot of people who believe Patsy did it--and she may have.....I just have a hard time figuring out how someone can go from one extreme to the other. I also don't know what kind of "darker motives" there could be other than Patsy feeding her own ego with regards to the pageants.

julianne,

Sometimes money is an underlying motivation, but being the wife of a millionaire seems to rule that out, also as you suggest moneyed people tend to tutor their children in more practical subjects than pageant skills.

Others have remarked before that Patsy's mother may have been the real motivating factor behind JonBenet's relentless pursuit of Pageant Crowns.

Unless Patsy was complicit in JonBenet's death its difficult to understand why she should have shielded the real killer.
