I agree it is very weird that anyone would want to befriend a convicted killer, and i can't comprehend that kind of mindset at all.
In SA & BD's case though there is quite an element of doubt that they killed TH, so waiting to see what the outcome of that is yet, and there is very good reason to suspect they were set up. SA was already set up once before and that was proven. And BD's conviction has been overturned.
