Steven Powell was involved in disappearance

Is it possible that area has MEN in positions of authority that have antiquated ideas about women and actually sympathized with the pathetic Josh Powell?

I think it's a fear of prosecuting without a body, as for why not turn knowledge over to Washington, I have no idea but its not because of sympathy Imo.

ETA: Suzies explanation above is good, I too believe it was the attorney's that held this up. It's maddening because they had enough and they certainly needed to protect the children and could have. I listened to Chuck on our local news and he sounds so sad, its heartbreaking.

It looks like he drove north if he activated a new cell phone north of Tremonton. My original guess was that he was headed for a hand-off to his father or a dump of the body in an area the family knew well, near Spokane. Lots of mines in the area, and SP would have grown up as a child visiting them.

But we now know that the family also has a long history in the Idaho Falls-Teton area, and grandma Ouita and grandpa Vacil were both from there.

These seem like two prime areas for JP's getting rid of Susan.

Well they aren't telling why. Marcus Ortiz (reporter) was not happy about them not even answering a few simple questions.

Mostly, they lived out of town - near Felt and Bone. But Idaho Falls was the largest "city" nearby. Grandma Ouita, the man she eventually married, Vacil Williams, her first two husbands, all were from this area. After she married Vacil, they went to Washington State and apparently never returned to Idaho.

When a woman shows, through her actions, that she is afraid of someone, take notice and LISTEN to her. I din't think this case could upset me any more but I am angry right now.

Susan is pleading from her grave and no one is listening. This is heartbreaking and downright scary.

Good God, The West Valley police department had plenty of evidence to arrest and get a conviction of Josh Powell. They failed those two little boys.

They are a joke and all should resign.

I am so saddened by this. Physical evidence, circumstantial evidence...clear motive...and nothing was done. The deaths of those poor boys...should not have happened!!

Hopefully the FBI has tried? Mike Powell is former FBI remember? But whether they've tried or not is irrelevant...

There are IT experts that are normally consulted on a situation like this (after LE fails) & they have not been asked.
(That was probably to preserve the integrity of their investigation too. Wouldn't want any outsiders seeing any evidence.)

I don't think so. My impression is they all wanted JP's butt. It's not uncommon for PD to have their hands tied by their attorneys.

This is my impression as well. I don't think Josh had any LE on his side in WVC.

I agree. But it is going to suck if they find a map to her body, a script of how she died... and could have found it 2 years ago.
As far as computers from Susan's house...
If they were interested in doing that... they have had two years to ask people to do just that.
They've had 6 months to have someone go through the ones from Steven's house. Even if WVPD claims ignorance...
Mike Powell has worked with the FBI, he definitely knows these people. Any ideas why they haven't done it yet?
