A German student is facing charges after eating up all of a forged document except the part that contained his address.

The man, a 25-year-old chemistry student, had applied for a job with a doctor of chemistry in Aachen.

When the potential employer thought the certificate of studies looked suspicious, he asked for a notarised copy.

Hearing this, the student grabbed the paper, tore it up, stuffed most of it into his mouth and chewed it up.

He then ran off, and the would-be employer called the police.

They found that part of the paper had not been eaten, but had fallen to the floor. It turned out to show the address of the student.

Research later proved that he had failed to complete part of his studies and had showed up with a forged document.
