Definitely yes. Steve Thomas mentions it in his book. He bought samples of that cord in the Army supply and at McGuckins' hardware store, and later lab analysis confirmed that this was the same type of cord which was used on JonBenet.

Did LE get any records from those stores. Receipts from the period before the crime?

They got receipts that showed Patsy had bought two items whose prices matched the prices of the tape roll and cord. Not conclusive, but that's one HELL of a coinky-dink!
