Who said anything about "surveillance cameras or cell phones". I had a Polaroid Instant and TONS of pictures of high school events.

I don't, for one minute, believe that no one took pix at any of these alleged parties.

I surmise you didn’t attend many Greek parties.

Personal cameras generally weren’t welcome, ime.

At “sanctioned” Greek events, there would be a professional event photog roving around for a length of time, and then everyone would order prints later from them.

Didn't she get pulled into a room by herself by the two boys? I don't find it unbelievable that others might not remember that as it wasn't a traumatic event for them, only to her. I also think it probably didn't last long - if I understand correctly, she got away. I'm not expecting the "boys" to confess at this point. I don't know what else she can do - either tell her account or be silent.

Not that it matters much, but she said she was shoved not pulled into the room.
I think they should allow testimony from witnesses.
I know Judge said he doesn't recall or outright denied, but he also said he didn't want to testify.
I think he should be made to as a possible witness.
And today we hear that there are many witnesses from other events. Why not allow them to come forth and put them on record? IMO

I don't know.

So since one wasn't done, one should never be done? Serious question, not snark.

I don't feel that the vote for confirmation should be delayed by an investigation.

Given the death threats against that those who have already come forward, I don't blame anyone who may have knowledge of the allegations, or anyone who may also be a victim/survivor, for not coming forward.

Snipped.

I stand corrected!

I appreciate the correction. :)

Fair enough.

I want to hear what happens in tomorrow's (Thursday) hearing before making my final opinion.

I am of the age of the nominee. I went to parties, plenty of parties. No one took pics of the event. Drinking, smoking (both kind) and raucous games were played. No one wanted a trail. And, remember back in the day you had to get photos developed at the store or on line. No photos from my time. Might have been good if there were 'cause there was lots of bad stuff happening at them.

I can't wait to listen in, but what happens with the other claims made in the last few days?
I don't see how anyone can move forward with a confirmation hearing without investigating or hearing from other possible victims.IMO

Also fascinating. Really? Did you take any Polaroids of sexual assaults? Or drinking parties when everyone there was too young to drink? I can't recall anyone doing that when I was a teen.

Good grief, proof that it happened! Not just claims, but proof! Did others see it, will they testify to that fact, did anyone take pictures of the event to show who was in attendance, did anyone make a diary entry, etc.

So, say, if someone steals my car and I witness them driving off in it, but nobody took any photos or videos of them doing it, would my car still, in fact, have been stolen? Would that mean the person who drove off with my car would no longer be the thief? Following that logic, would my car, in fact, longer be stolen?

Brett Kavanaugh, Christine Blasey Ford Senate hearings: How to watch on TV and online

CBS News and CBSN is planning gavel-to-gavel coverage:

"The day's events will start at 10 a.m. ET. Ford will take the hot seat first, after opening remarks from the committee chairman, Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-California, the panel's top Democrat. The proceedings are expected to last into the afternoon. After the 21-member committee finishes asking their questions of Ford -- however long that will be, including breaks -- then Kavanaugh will go next."

I'm assuming most major networks will be providing coverage. bbm

OMG! I was at my college roommates house a few years ago, she dug out her scrapbook, and there, front and center was a picture of me, doing something incredibly stupid! She loves it! We were crazy! I am sure that there are some Polaroid pictures around of these "rape fests".

Depends if you wrote about in your calendar or not.

It should have been investigated the moment the accuser brought to the democrat's attention.

Oh, but she did ask that it be investigated.

I actually only took photos when I was young and stopped when I got older.

Every request she and her atty. have made, has been accommodated...and STILL she's not willing to testify.

Every request has been accommodated? Source, please?

It seems to me that the main, consistent request she’s had all along is that the FBI investigate it. All this bickering would not only be irrelevant right now, but it wouldn't even be happening. The investigation would be over. We’d all be moving on with our lives.

Yes, I am quoting myself. Sorry.

I wanted to add that when I say bad stuff-- I mean sexual assaults. Back in the day (50s, 60s and 70s), you weren't believed if you reported something to the cops, especially if you had been drinking or at a party with the person or people. In many parts of the country the early 80s were just like the 70s and 60s and 50s. Sexual assaults (not necessarily rapes) happened frequently. Among the women I know from that time, more than 1/2 report being pressured, forced into sexual contact while having spent time drinking or smoking with a person or persons. It is important to note that people who had weed or kegs were popular among young people who couldn't obtain it. The owners of the kegs/beer/weed/qualludes were often the most sh!&-faced and would get away with a lot of crappy behavior because they owned the stuff . People let them get away with it. More than once I was an upstander. But I am ashamed to say I might have been a bystander on more than one occasion. I think we forget the sexual assault and rape are not about sex but power over another person. Young people and mind altering substances in bullying or power over situations often don't recognize their faulty behavior. Do any of you every wonder why most of the class never attends the high school reunion? There was lots of bad behavior memories that people want to try to avoid having to be transported back to. Given the times, given the access to alcohol and given the freedom to roam, I am still on the side of the first two women as their experiences are consistent with what I have witnessed.

I wonder what they feel an FBI investigation would accomplish besides a delay in the confirmation vote?

Anyone who would be willing to help her would have come forward on their own by now and there's nothing the FBI could do to change that in my opinion.

Did every other current Sitting judge have this through of a vetting? To include actions that occurred in high school?.

Yes, top-level government background checks go all the way back to high school.

Source: My Mom was a public high school teacher for 40 years, and she’s been interviewed multiple times about former students who were being considered for high-level government roles.
