Susan Atkins wants out of jail to die...

I hope it isn't...and I hope the public shows up in huge numbers to protest her release.

She blames her 'tragic past' for her role in the murders. :boohoo::furious: I've never once heard of her show any compassion and remorse for the brutal murders of Gary Hinman, Leno and Rosemary LaBianca, Steven Parent, Jay Sebring, Wojciech Frykowski, Abigail Folger, Sharon Tate Polanski and baby Paul Richard Polanksi. God will forgive her but I don't see why society should.

If it gets that far, I'm sure they will. But it truly sounds like time is against her.

Time waits for no one.....its against all of us, we will all die. If we dont die in prison, its because we had a "conscience".
Sharon Tate ddnt have much time, only 26 short yrs....thx to S Atkins and friends. Her baby didnt even hav ANY here on Earth.
S Atkins is in a hospital, not prison.
We have all had tragedy in our lives. She makes excuse after excuse...
makes me sick. Has she ever writen apologies to the family?
What was her tragedy? Her Mum died and her father was an alcoholic?
I know lots of people who lived through same thing, yes its sad but they didnt choose to kill other people.
Im sure she is getting humane care and her husband gets to visit her in hospital. yes, she was even allowed to marry while imprisoned.
Im sure Mrs Tate and the 2 Sisters had quite a tragedy to deal with all of tese yrs. Its sad they even had to GO to these peoples parole hearings. Im sure its hard to face someone who murdered your daughter/sister.

Good post... I too am sick of hearing excuses from people who commit the most heinous acts. At some point there is responsibility for actions...the fact that she has made no attempt take that responsibility says it all ..leave her to die in jail. Pity it will be in a hospital environment on a clean bed with care.Non of which was afforded to poor Sharon Tate or any of Atkins victims.Makes me sick thinking about it.

Since you brought up the afterlife.. or religion, let me say that I believe that people can be forgiven for any horrific act.. anything less than that would be an insult to Jesus (the faith that I know best) and his sacrifice on the cross. That is if you are a Christian, and do believe in all of that.

I hope she has had repentance, and along with that, she wouldve realized the weight of her actions.. she wouldve wanted restitution, and begged forgiveness from her victims, and families. She would honor their wishes, that she die in prison, IMO. And then she would be welcomed into Heaven, as a forgiven sinner.

JMO.
no I didnt but I still hope she burns in hell....

Amen!! Nore.

Amen!! Nore.

Aw shucks. Thank you Nore. :blushing::blowkiss: On Susan Atkins' website (managed by her husband I think) it lists all the volunteering and good work she has done in prison. I think that's great but it should not be considered in her early release. Her prison charity work is the least she could do after the horror of what she has done. However I suspect she does it to ease her own conscience. On the website there is not even a mention of the victims. It is as though they never even existed.

Prisoners volunteer for a reason. For their benefit. It helps the day to go faster, relieves boredom and in some cases it may even help to get them priveleges and may help to gain favors from the guards.

Somehow her doing volunteer work in prison just doesn't give me any warm fuzzy feelings about her. Now if she had been doing volunteer work before she went to the pen, maybe. But if she was doing volunteer work then, she wouldn't have had time to do what she did would she?

I have been thinking a lot about Karma this weekend. Perhaps dying under circumstances that are less then Atkins "ideal" is HER Karma. It certainly was less then "ideal" circumstances when Sharon Tate died.

If so, would "compassionate release" (which is just a phrase for lets set things aside now that you are dying) be fighting against the decrees of Karma?

I think its called "going for points with the parole board". However no charity for her! She will not live long enough for all the legalities to go through and the Courts know it.Nore.
P.S. you are welcome..

What a shame...... She should have to BEG for this as she made her victim BEG for her and her childs life.. only to be told no.

Funny you should mention this Glow. I have been on a similar thought pattern this weekend, maybe for the past couple of weeks.

I have no ideas at the moment, but I think your question is a thought provoking one and I'm glad you asked it.

Yes you did... to say that her soul belongs to the devil and she should burn in hell, IS a religious statement. And it certainly does pertain to her "afterlife".

What I can't figure out is why anyone married this 🤬🤬🤬! She is gross and plain creepy looking! Her eyes look pure evil!:eek::eek:

I am sure he married her to capitalize on her infamy vs. any real relationship as most of the people who attach themselves to high profile cases. Basically, it is a low self esteem and marrying someone who is detested by society elevates them as not quite as being so low.

On another note, I think that the injustice we see requires us to seek justice when and where we can. The Lord will have the final say, of course, but as free will individuals we have to be able to speak up.

If we don't, then society becomes unmanageable and lays helpless to every criminal who wants their way.

As sad as it is to die of a terrible disease it doesn't take away the crimes before the disease took over.

Too many are dying of illness that never hurt a fly and I don't think that is karma for the illness befallen. If it is then that becomes unmanageable too.

I visited Atkins website, which I believe is put up by her husband, and her attorney?

It is an interesting site, but unfortunate that her crimes are never addressed by her. No pulbic apology or anything..

That said, she has accomplished so many good things in prison. She has been a model prisoner, and has helped many people.

This from her contact page:

Those who think Susan might be able to help them, aid them in reaching someone who is struggling with drugs, cults or gangs, want to discuss a Biblical question, or who simply want to contact her and thank her for contributing back into the community, you are encouraged to contact her. She doesn't bite. And Susan tries to respond to all letters personally (time permitting).

BUT, Susan doesn't discuss her commitment offense, and she encourages those interested in the crimes to find a more suitable focus for their time and attention.

I find the bolded part offensive!!! WTF????? As if people should not be interested in the victims, and the havoc she wrought on them?? And why on earth wont she discuss her offenses?? To me, that would be a sign of repentance.
