Clackamas County investigators have not said if any new evidence was collected during the search.

Earlier this month, Lane-Fournier filed for divorce against her husband of 12 years, according to court documents. It’s unclear if the divorce has any connection to her disappearance.

Asked if investigators had ruled out foul play, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson John Wildhaber told The Oregonian/OregonLive that he had no further updates at this time.

Yep, I think this case is going to go in a different direction than a woman goes missing while walking her dogs on a trail. I'm grateful for her friends.

Though the search has been suspended, the sheriff's office said investigators still want to speak with anyone who saw Lane-Fournier “before her disappearance or who has information about her whereabouts the week leading up to her disappearance.”

Dogs can survive in rough conditions for longer than any human, and a human with furry babies can also survive longer thanks to their heat and protection.
Strange they did not find any trace of the dogs if she really went hiking and with them.
But then, why go hiking instead of going to work? Was she the one leaving her car there ?
Sth does not add here.

She is a short woman. I hope they checked the seat adjustment on her truck for clues, in case someone taller drove it last and adjusted the seat.

It's starting to feel like the truck location might have been a diversion. Which means she was never there... which raises the next questions -- when and from where did she and her dogs disappear and where are they now?????.

I also think her truck was parked there as a diversion. Wish we knew more about that.

Yes, she wouldn't have taken the dogs with her hiking near a public trailhead, as wolf hybrids they have behavior traits that normally preclude a positive interaction with strangers, and they would have guarded her fiercely. I first didn't think "foul play" as I had assumed from brief initial info that she lived a mostly solitary life. That appears not to be the case, if she had been married and had a number of friends.

IMO, It someone would have gotten close enough to her to harm her, they would most likely been someone the dogs were very familiar with and could then have gotten close enough to first remove the dogs as a threat. I hope LE will do a thorough forensic search of the truck as further information about her life and relationships is brought out and the focus shifts from "missing hiker" to possible foul play.

- Susan lives in Brightwood (NW of Welches)
- She works at Hoodland Bazaar in Welches
- Her truck was found approx 9 miles SE of Brightwood and approx 5.5 miles S of Hoodland Bazaar

The search for missing Brightwood resident Susan Lane-Fournier...

At first, Gesch said she didn’t know her friend was missing, but something didn’t feel right about the truck.

“It just was an odd place for somebody to be parked,” she said.

I'm a bit puzzled about something, tell me if I'm understanding this right.
Her dogs are not public-friendly, but she kept them in the back of her truck in a public place during her work shift that last day?
That seems contradictory??

Moo... vehicle is a safe place for dogs. Dogs see it as a safe place, which is why they will become aggressive if you come near vehicle..moo

I just find it strange - that what has been reported amounts to her supposedly leaving two highly reactive dogs unsupervised in a busy public parking lot in the open bed of a pickup truck for hours in 40-something degree weather while she was working...

It's just... I suppose someone might do it as a one-off, but it's being talked about like it's a normal everyday thing.

Even in a rural-ish area, I'd be surprised at that not getting reported by a busybody while happening once, nevermind on a regular basis.

Either that was unusual and it hasn't made reports that it was unusual, or the details are wrong. It's a retail place of business if I'm understanding correctly, and two unfriendly dogs in an open bed of a truck isn't conducive to making customers feel comfortable, among other issues. I think something's missing from that reporting. imo

My niece trains dogs. She had 2 full-blooded Malinois. Came to visit me. They were in huge indestructible crates in the bed of her pickup. I started to walk out the door and she said, don’t go anywhere near the truck. I personally wondered the same thing. Why take two potentially dangerous dogs into the
‘Public’, I assume only on leashes? That’s just asking for trouble. Same niece took in a Great Pyraneese (sp?)and it almost killed her adult daughter. MOO
