Hmmm he mentioned that Stacy took about 25K from the safe....sorry no link handy.

IMO, that's alot of $$ to keep in your safe at home. Cop at home or not, I'd prefer that large sums like that be in the bank, but that's just me.

Speaking of money, which I think you may be onto, IM, How on a cops salary alone was he able to live the lifestyle he did? Does it seem odd to anyone else how well off they look. Not in a mean way, but their house was huge and their close really look nice, and just other things I have noticed.

  • #203
I think so too....lots of cash on hand, no need for a withdrawal maybe?

  • #204
And right there is your connection to a dirty cop. Keeping that amount of money in a safe..plus there must be more because his comments didn't say she emptied the safe. Who would keep that amount of money in a safe at home unless you were a millionaire? You would if the money was dirty money from a drug deal, bribes, etc..so you wouldn't want to run that money through a bank or the IRS.

DeltaDawn, you might want to pop off and read this article listing SOME of his assets at the time of his divorce to Kathleen: http://www.suburbanchicagonews.com/heraldnews/news/636553,4_1_JO06_MISSING_S2.article

The will lists some of their assets:

• A Golden Rule life insurance policy valued at $100,000

• A Monumental Life Insurance policy valued at $125,000

• A Prudential Life Insurance policy valued at $308,137.59 -- "Beneficiary Merchants Bank Oswego to pay off note for Sud's Pub in Montgomery," according to the will.

• Bolingbrook Police Pension fund of more than $50,000

• A piece of real estate listed as 9 Clay Court, Montgomery

• The Blue Lightning Corp., or Sud's Pub, 1250 S. Broadway, Montgomery

• Da Page Corp., Fast 'N' Accurate Graphics, 87 Eisenhower South, Lombard

• A quarter interest in CMYK Corp., listed as a printing business in "Lombard-Naperville," according to the will.

Pension fund at BBPD? Was Kathleen a former employee there?

Alot of public servants such as LE, even Federal agents qualify for public assistance. The definitely do not get paid much.

I keep thinking there is a reason for him mentioning 25K. We know Stacy didn't take it. Why make up that amount?

PROGRAMMING NOTE: DR. BADEN WILL BE ON “ON THE RECORD” at 10pm EASTERN….
We have just learned that yes, Dr. Baden, will be doing an autopsy on Kathleen Savio — Sgt. Drew Peterson’s wife #3 who has been exhumed. He is doing it on behalf of her family — not on behalf of the prosecutor

ETA: Neighbor Sharon is supposed to be on as well.

The will may list allof that, but that does not mean that was the payoff figure, trust me on this one. That's the pay off if all the liens, bank notes, etc are payed off and then the goverment gets their share. And that would mean that amount of money could legally be put into a bank, an investment note, etc. This amount of money in a cops safe means something wicked this way comes..because $25 grand was not the entire amount or he would have said so if that was the case. This guy has money laundered everywhere is my bet, the home safe was just to hold him over if he needed a safety net.

No, she would have been eligible for part of the pension as his wife.

Why do I think he mentioned $25 K because he is a dirty cop and that was his pay off to who ever helped in this crime..a little reminder that you owe me and you're dirty now too.

I am thinking that person may be the one who helped Drew move the barrel. Otherwise, how in the heck to you explain to the average person the need to move a heavy barrel from a bedroom? Evidently, Sharon saw Drew and this man moving a blue barrel outside. Has LE even found the guy who helped? Are the kids the ones who saw it being moved from a bedroom? Is Drew blowing it off like he has with everything else Sharon has said? And we know Drew could not have driven two cars.

Sharon, "The kids were very upset because their dad and Stacy had a really bad fight that morning."

Ric, "Sharon said both cars were there until 1:30PM".

Drew, "I woke up at 11am and Stacy was gone"

Cassandra, Sharon, Ric: "Drew said he picked up Stacy's car from the airport".

Drew, "I never said that".

This definitely tells me Drew's resignation had nothing to do with his pension. He just wanted to halt the internal investigation.

(snip, more at link)
Because drew Peterson is over the age of 50 and has given over 20 years of service to the Bolingbrook Police Department, the board said, by law, they did have to vote to grant him his full pension. One board member said, because of the circumstances, she wasn't comfortable doing so, but the law is the law.

Drew Peterson is a 39-year veteran of the Bolingbrook Police Department. His years of service entitle him to a $6,000-a-month pension. It is money he is fighting to keep.

I could see DP hiring a criminal he's crossed paths with to do the deed for him. I wonder if he's made any large withdrawals lately?

--->>>Well I noted in the financial run down of assets that his pension fund only had $50,000.00 in it, I would think that after 29 years it would have much more than that in it!!!!!

Anyone familiar with withdrawal methods for a pension fund?

.

IIRC, That amount was listed under Kathleen's estate. Probably Kathleens portion awarded in her divorce.

I'm doubting the blue barrel story. Surely, if there was a blue barrel, someone would have come forth by now.

Yeah right! I doubt he would've given her the combination to the safe considering how controlling he is.

I totally agree! I believe he needed to account for $25,000 for some reason...maybe bribes, payment to accomplice, or more likely get-away money just in case things get too hot.

I wonder if the money was recently withdrawn from a traceable account, or if he recently sold something to get the $ and he condidered he might have to account for the money during an investigation.

Did he really claim she took a set of sheets? How stupid was that! Next thing you know, he will be telling us that she also packed a blunt object and a few bottles of bleach!.

They wouldn't come forward if they knew they were moving a dead body.
