I totally agree! I believe he needed to account for $25,000 for some reason...maybe bribes, payment to accomplice, or more likely get-away money just in case things get too hot.

I wonder if the money was recently withdrawn from a traceable account, or if he recently sold something to get the $ and he condidered he might have to account for the money during an investigation.

Did he really claim she took a set of sheets? How stupid was that! Next thing you know, he will be telling us that she also packed a blunt object and a few bottles of bleach!.

Don't be surprised if you read that soon!

I keep thinking there is a reason for him mentioning 25K. We know Stacy didn't take it. Why make up that amount?

With that much money, Stacy...
- Would not have to call family for money (or else she'd have called them by now).
- Would not need to use her credit cards or bank cards (no transactions to track her so-called whereabouts)
- Could travel anywhere in the world and live off the cash (she could be anywhere now).

In other words, DP was hoping that this would help further legitimize Stacy's disappearance and explain away the reasons as to why nobody has heard from her.

--->>>Well I noted in the financial run down of assets that his pension fund only had $50,000.00 in it, I would think that after 29 years it would have much more than that in it!!!!!

Anyone familiar with withdrawal methods for a pension fund?

.

Pension loans / Loans against your pension contributions are a common practice when available. NYC employees are allowed to withdraw up to 75% of their contributions. Usually the loans have to be paid back within 5 years.

We also do not know if Bolington contributes to their workers' pension fund also as many municipalities do, thus reducing the amount that the individual has to put in (this could explain why there is only $50K in his. Police Officers for the Port Authority of NY/NJ do not have to contribute at all to their pension (but neither are they allowed to take out a pension loan).

Unless I read it wrong, I thought it said in excess of $50,000.00. : )

A person can easily go through $25,000.00. While it sounds like a lot of money, it really goes quickly if you are living in a hotel, eating out daily, and trying to live life on the run. It wouldn't last long. Yes, he was hoping it would explain away those things...but his ego doesn't allow for other people being as smart as he thinks he is!

IIRC, the 50K figure is from Kathleen's estate. It is probably Kathleens portion of Drew's retirement awarded to her in the divorce. Drews will collect 6000.00 a month, 72,000.00 a year from his pension.

The Police & Fireman's Pension Fund typically has employees contributing 9% to 10% from their gross salary with the Police Department contributing at least 13.5% to 14.5%. I am thinking the rates might be different in different states, but based on where I live, those would be the typical rates.

What I don't understand is how DP, would get $6,000/month??? That amount just does not seem possible.

Anyone know anything on this??

I think so too....lots of cash on hand, no need for a withdrawal maybe?
This would be my guess. $25,000.00 sounds like a lot to most people, but to someone like Drew with disposable income and his ego...it makes sense to me he would keep it onhand. God only knows when he might need it to buy another toy!

Yep, $25,000, deed to house, and a bikini will do wonders with the new man in your life.

GIVE ME A FRIGGING BREAK!!!

Next, he will be saying she wanted to build a house in the water!

Seriously though, most dirty cops do not bank their illegal monies, but put it in a safe. Whether at home or in a bank safe deposit box. Most likely at home, so it is easily accessible for the next "dirty" job.

I've worked for PERS (Publice Employees Retirement System) for 30 years, and there is no way I am getting close to $6,000/month when I retire.

And yes, I have over $50,000.00 in it too. (Combined contributions from me and the employer)

Drew will be receiving 85% of his sergeant's salary under his pension.

My ex-MIL retired from the post office and receives the same type of pension plan.

I will follow up for confirmation and links, but this is the latest gathered from my travels through the blogosphere:

AMW reporter is saying that LE has phone records for landline and cell and there are no phone calls between Drew and Stacy the day she disappeared.

There is an investigation into Drew Petersons fellow officers.

Dr Baden is perfoming Kathleen's autopsy today.

ETA: Drew is a highly trained martial arts expert.

That is a pretty busy day with just this info. I believe his web of lies is unraveling one by one.

Given DP's history with his wives, has there been any mention of his mother? I am a firm believer in how a man's relationship with all the women in his life is formed by the relationship he has with his mother.
Has his mother or father spoken out at all about Stacy missing?

I'm sure there are procedural differences depending on the employer but we made an early withdrawal from my ex's Major League Baseball Pension. You have to give a legitimate reason for getting the money early like needing it to purchase a home or being financially destitute and needing the money immediately to survive. Both husband and wife have to sign to have the money released.

Lets talk about DP here

--->>>Still trying to play catch-up.

1. Do we know all of the cities that DP may have been assigned to or employed by in his 29 year career in Law Enforcement?

2. Do we know what type of work/jobs that the closer females did, that may have interacted with Law Enforcement and DP?

3. Bolingbrook, IL is Will County and Blue Island is Cook County.

4. It is also not uncommon that different LE offices will have common meetings in one anothers city for training etc. Lunches out etc.

5. This whole case and things around it, is really ODD.

Hi VB. I believe his mother has spoken, and she doesn't think he's done anything wrong. I remember her last name is "Morphey" and if I recall correctly she must have said something else that made a poster here compare her to Scott Peterson's mom....

You might find the comments or threads if you do a search on the WS site of her last name. Hopefully someone here will update you better than I did before you have to go through that search process!
